just got back from doctors.. diagnosed with PCOS. what next?

Just got back from the doctors, and with the results of my blood tests he has said i have pcos. Im pleased i finally have a diagnosis as this is something that ive been chasing for about 10 years. ( ive not had a period for a year now) Im being refered to a fertility specalist.
My LSH level was 11.8 and my FSH level was 5.2.
i was wondering if anyone could tell me a bit more about what this means.

Your LH;FSH ratio is classic of this condition. A higher ratio of LH to FSH is one indicator of PCOS.

PCOS is not an absolute barrier to conception but having this condition can make conceiving more difficult.

One of the difficulties with this condition is that it is a very individualistic disorder and thus affects each woman with it very differently.

Am glad to see you are being referred to a specialist; this is not a condition that should be messed around with at all by GPs.
You may or may not be given clomid as it should always be given with a degree of caution to PCOS patients (some PCOSers can become clomid resistant).

fantastic, thanks for that, ive had a look at the website. Ive also ordered a low gi book from amazon as it seems that this may help a bit. Have you done low gi? and if so how difficult is it?
Im hoping that the waiting list for the specalist isnt too long ( doubt it though) I really want a second baby.
I feel positive that ive finally got the diagnosis, but then also feel bad as its such a problem. I also feel quite angry that although ive finally got this diagnosis, that its taken me so long to get it, when ive been going to see various docs for so long.

I have pcos and I have 3 wonderful children. I've also had 5 miscarriages because of it. I have irregular cycles and other symptoms as well. I haven't had weight problems though. I didn't change my diet to conceive but I was quite young. I'm 29 now and my eldest is 6 and a half.
