Ovulation kits?

My periods have always been quite irregular, I had my coil out on 10th July, and I am currently CD12 ttc #2. Fertility friend says I am Ovulating, I've been using ovulation sticks over the past few days, yesterday I got a positive, and the day before, and I've done 2 today and theyre negative, does that mean I've already ovulated? I've got crampy pains atm which I thought were ovulation pains? I'm quite confused now.

Positive means you are ovulating, negative means no, so sounds as if you have already ovulated. Ovulation does vary from month to month so another way, in addition to kits is to check your cervical mucus - have you been doing that?

Right, what happens is that before and around when you ovulate, your vaginal discharge will change - it will go from the normal whitish to kind of like clear egg white type substance (called EWCM on mnet! Egg white cervical mucus) and you will feel more 'wet' if that makes sense - have you noticed that at all?

Sorry TMI i know, it's not clear at all tho, its a kinda creamy colour. I havn't ttc before so I'm new to all this, I fell pregnant straight away with my daughter. I'm not very well educated on the baby making front, sorry.

Don't apologise - that's what mnet is for! If you aren't sure what to be looking for re mucus, then what you could do, is use the ovulation kits and monitor it at the same time - you should be able to see a difference in your type of mucus - remember, its personal to you and it may not be the same as what others have.

Also, count 14 days from the day your last period started and make sure you have sex on day 12, 14 and 16 - that should cover all bases - assuming you ovulate mid cycle - some people don't, in which case this is where the kits and watching the mucus will come in handy as will give you an idea of when you ovulate

Yes I'm nagging my DH loads as well and he's getting cheesed off! He changed his mind about ttc this month as was too stressed but said it will be ok to start from next month... Its hard not to get obsessed though...

fertility friend/temping can only really tell you when you HAVE ovulated. You need to do it for a few cycles to get a true idea as by the time you notice a change in temperature you will have already ovulated.

I tried temping but as I couldn't take my temperature at the same time, and as soon as I woke I was all over the place so I much prefer to use Ovulation tests and my Fertility monitor as well as looking out for other signs like Egg white cervical mucus.

He says I'm stressing him too much for "the finished product" I just havn't got any patience, and since I fell preg so easily firsdt time round, I guess I know im not gonna have an easy time ttc #2. I know im pessimistic (sp) It's just stressful, sorry I'm babbling, I know theres girlies out there who have been trying for ages must shut up now venting over...

No, no - I'm the same. I'm hearing a lot of stories of people who got pg quick first time then had a hell of a time 2nd time around so I'm stressing out myself!

I have just EWCM for four days with the heaviest day on the fourth. We only had sex on the first of the EWCM day because on day three our child woke up due to our noises in the night , my DP never finished his performance. When do you actually ovulate in this time, of four days of EWCM? and when is it best to have intercourse?
