Is there anything different about these tests - just wondering why first response claim can test up to 4 days before AF whereas Clear blue is has to be day of missed AF...are they basically the same test or is FR more sensitive?

if the technology is there to test accuratly earlier, then why don't the market leaders (Clear blue) off this too? Hmmm...strange

My friend (Tessiebear) tested with first response a couple of days b4 her period was due & got a bfn.
She tested with clearblue 3 days later & got a bfp!
She is VERY much pregnant!!!!

Hi, I did a FR 3 days before AF and got a BFP. I also did 3 (yes, I do these things like scratch cards!) Clear Blue same day/day after and got positives, although the lines were feinter than FR.

I'm so impatient I can never seem to wait until the official due date to test, drives dh mad!

Good luck, Helen.

Both missed mine but a predictor picked it up!!!
Had neighbours ditching all their leftover tests on me! The predictor got it!

it's scary the obsession isn't it - you can sink so much money into those goddamn sticks!

I did a FR a day before my period was due and it said negative. I did another FR (from a different packet) a week after and it still said negative. A few minutes later, I also did a Boots one and it said positive. I went to the doctor who confirmed positive. I was pregnant and I now have a lovely dd! I don't trust First Response! My experience was that the cheaper brands gave me the most accurate result! Good luck!!!

I did a Clear Blue the day I was due and BFN. Did FR later the same day and BFP. I now have a 19-month-old dd.

HunkerMunker · 12/02/2005 21:58

I did a Clear Blue a couple of days after I was due and got an extremely dark positive. Thought I'd be one of the test and test again folk, but once was enough!

I absolutely despise those digital ones! 'Not Pregnant'. Thanks, f-you, too! For some reason it just sort of easier to take w/the lines.

triceratops · 12/02/2005 22:17

I bought FR this time because it is pink and I want a girl. Sad but true.

Oh this is scary. I feel pregnant and having just moved to the 28 day pill, been on antibiotics and had terrible diarrohea a few weeks ago, forgot abous using condoms too.

No period yet and did a FR on Monday. Came up negative. We really couldn't have another child in our current situation [worried icon]

So I took a FR and it was a BFP and the next day I took clue blue and I thought they was Both a BFN but the next day I look at both of them and one say positive it just was so faded the color and the other one was still negative. What the difference between First Response and Clue Blue??
