Congrats on your 15 weeks Tink. I am now 8 weeks and can hardly believe how quickly its going! Re schools, don't forget they are so much more than ofsted reports. The reports can give you a guide but nothing substitutes actually looking round the school. Also if the report is 2/3/4 years old a lot can change in that time, for worse and for better. So, before making any decisions def look round the school and maybe speak to parents of kids who go there if you can.

Deige - emotional recovery will probably take some time, a holiday is probably just what you need. Take some time to rest!

Kooky - kittens are adorable, its such a shame they grow!! I love cats too but there is something magical abotu kittens.

Not feeling too bad today, although I am sure I will go down hill as the day goes on. Think I'm getting off this morning sickness quite lightly. I do seem to feel sick for most of the day but I am only really being sick about once a day so thats got to be pretty good. As for tiredness we thats a given of course but I seem to be controlling the worst of it by going to bed at 9 every night, which as I don't get up till 8 is quite a lot of sleep and collapsing on the sofa the second I get home for at least an hour before I move.

The worst thing I am finding is that at the moment we have a French girl from head office staying with us (she'll be will us for another 5 weeks) so I can't even properly relax when I get home and we're having to cook proper food and be sociable every evening, which tbh is the last thing I want to do. Its such bad timing at its making my life really hard, but hey I sppose it could be worse.

How is everyone today than?

GYo · 24/07/2008 10:50

Hi Playing
Glad to hear that your sickness tiredness is under control to a certain extent. 8 wks already!? time is really flying.

Im good thanks. The sickness is slowly creeping up but only nausea and I can control it by eating...

Weird question. Do you get much notice of being sick? can you control it?

Am so worried about sitting on 45min train ride and tube in a couple of wks time...

GYo · 24/07/2008 10:52

I know everyone is different but good to hear of experiences...

calsworld · 24/07/2008 11:10

Sorry to keep you hanging on , work has been manic this morning and getting more stressful by the day. I'm tempted to tell them just so they'll ease off but DH really wants to wait a bit longer.

Did the CBD at about 5.30 and only waited about 30 seconds for it to come up positive, sneaked back into the bedroom and put it on DH's bedside table as I think he needed to see it really - he was a bit dubious about my faint BFP's.

I'm going to phone the surgery in a bit to see what they want me to do re booking in etc. I really don't know what they are going to say my EDD is, if they go off that wheel then it will say I'm currently 6 weeks pg and due around the middle of march, if from average cycle length, it will be about the 21st of March and if from date of when I think I Ov'd, only 4weeks 5 days and due end of March! Two weeks variance seems quite big to me as if you go two weeks over your 40 they want to induce, but I might only just be due. I guess the scan will be able to est. it for me, but I'd like to know for when I tell people as that will be the question on everyone's lips - I guess I'll just have to say March....

Kitten sounds v cute!

Cosmogirl · 24/07/2008 11:14

I would second GYo's question about the sickness. Does it just start out of the blue? Playing, are you being sick in the morning or at work?

calsworld · 24/07/2008 11:18

Cosmo / GYo, I can only tell you from my experience, but last time (and this it would seem) it started with a couple of weeks of feeling a bit nauseous, I'm aware of my tummy and a niggling at the back of my throat at the moment, then I would start looking at food and thinking, I can't eat that, I don't want that and again, I'm got to that stage about a week ago (adding to my suspicions - off all veggies and I love my veggies same as last time!!!).

Then the nausea grew and grew until eventually I was sick...I think the first time I actually threw up was about 10 weeks then it carried on throughout the pg, I found it quite hard to control...am hoping that what I learnt last time will stand me in better stead this time.

I'm also finding that if I drink a cold drink at the moment, its really upsetting my tummy, hot drinks are far more manageable apparently. I don't remember that last time around. Hot chocolate anyone?

Cosmogirl · 24/07/2008 11:22

I'm scared now, Cals....Sounds horrible.

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/07/2008 11:29

Have avoided being sick at work yet, although I must admit there have been times when I really thought I was going to be. I am actually being sick in the evening, my nausea seems to build throughout the day and hits a point at 5.30-7.30 when I am ill. Really not what I expected, I seem to be finding it very hard to know when I am going to be sick. At the moment I feel like I am going to be sick much more than I am. Yesterday I must have gone to the loo about 4 times at work just because I really thought I was going to be sick and then all round the supermarket as well but I wasn't at all until later on. Its a bit wierd. Only started this week, was just nausea before that.

GruffaloSoldier · 24/07/2008 11:41

Hello everyone!

I got up at 10.30 this morning so feel much better! I think the lovely bright weather helps.

I am supposed to be studying but want to go out somewhere with DH and enjoy this lovely weather!!

Sorry for your sickness Playing! I wonder if you are having a girl.

Do any of you have a gender preference? I would love a girl but when it comes down to it of course as long as baby is healthy etc. I would like to experience being a mum to both genders but first I would love a girl!

Better get pregnant first

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/07/2008 12:00

Hi Gruffalo - very about you getting up at 10.30.

I have very little preference over girl or boy, think DH would like a boy but know he would be happy with either. I seem to find it easier to think of girls names then boys names right now if my brain strays in that direction (we used to chat about it when ttcing but have refused to talk about it again at the moment) but I honestly won't mind either way. I suppose being 1 of 3 with a brother and a sister I have always kinda imagined a mixed bag, but who knows what the future will hold. DH, however, is 1 of 2 with a sister so always wanted a brother so I think to him a son will be someone to teach rugby and golf and be a boy with, which is something he really wants to do, and I can understand that.

GYo · 24/07/2008 12:08

Thanks for "vomit" info. Helpful, but I am sure everyone is different.

Try not to worry cosmo- nothing you can do about it... easier said than done when I've just posted saying I was worried!

Hi Gruffalo - also re your lie in though well deserved im sure.

Cals- great news about the BFP on the CBD. Hope you are really excited now ! The due date thing is weird. I've got 3 diff dates now 14th (doc/MW), 17th (sonographer) 19th website calculator thing. I guess they really cant tell til they measure at 12 or 13wks

Right, Im off to M&S to search for a comfy sleep bra. Feels like im sleeping with two cricket balls at the moment...

GruffaloSoldier · 24/07/2008 12:14

Hey playing!

Yeah I am one of three girls so I think it is only natural. DH has 1 sister and two brothers but has loads of girl cousins!Between us we have 6 nieces and 2 nephews too! He really doesn't mind either way though.

I really need to be doing work but am looking for next holiday for us. Think it will be camping so just looking on internet.I need to have something to look forward to to get me through this next week!

GruffaloSoldier · 24/07/2008 12:17

Hey, what can I say, I'm a lazy student (not for much longer though

GYo · 24/07/2008 12:38

well- there was nothing suitble in M&S. Im after a kind of cropped top thing that supports without uncomfy seams. Will keep on looking....

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/07/2008 12:44

Yep GYo everyone is different and having posted all that I am actually feeling pretty good today. Had a breif spell of nausea this morning but feeling pretty great right now, could do with a nap of course . Sure I'll be taking back that comment later . Can't say any of it is bothering me really, felt pretty sorry for myself last night but generally I am very much of the opinion that I have it fairly easy, enough symptoms so I'm not stressing about not having any but not so sick that its taking over my entire life.

Gruffalo - holiday sounds good to me, I could really do with one. Its a good thing leaving student years behind, soon you'll be too busy being a Mum!

Cosmogirl · 24/07/2008 12:52

I suppose you're right GYo - everyone is affected differently by morning sickness. Has anyone tried those preggie pops?

Playingthe9monthwait · 24/07/2008 13:03

What are pg pops?

Cosmogirl · 24/07/2008 13:06

They are sour flavoured sweets and lollipops that are supposed to help with nausea and morning sickness. If you google preggie pops you'll see lots of sites selling them.

GruffaloSoldier · 24/07/2008 13:06

Oh i do hope so Playing!!
Good to hear that you aren't feeling too bad today

GYo · 24/07/2008 13:20

just searched for pg pops and found this...

www.hi-baby.co.uk/acatalog/Morning_Sickness_Package.html

The CD thing looks good.

Cosmogirl · 24/07/2008 13:33

Yeah, that CD thing sounds quite cool.

Tink - did your fetal doppler from Ebay arrive? Let us know how you get on with it. Just been looking myself and prices seem really reasonable.

busylady · 24/07/2008 14:10

hi all

thought i'd update, i guess you won't know what i'm up to if all i do is lurk this thread and don't partake!!

am using the CBDFM and had 2 peak days on CD10/CD11. we dtd on CD9 and CD10 so am keeping my fingers crossed...am on cd14 now and had a crampy pain in my side, but i think that might be just wind! I guess I'll be testing towards the end of next weekend, or whenever my monitor tells me too!

BL X

calsworld · 24/07/2008 14:14

I used preggie pops, I found they were quite helpful as long as I had one in my mouth, but as soon as I finished it I had to start another!!!

GYo, Cosmo, I wasn't trying to scare, mine was fairly extreme I was just trying to demonstrate that if you are going to get it, it might be something that builds over time. Equally, it might just come out of no-where, we're all different. I too don't cope with sick very well at all, like baby poo its something you get used to coz you've got no choice! I'm sure you'll be fine.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 24/07/2008 14:18

Afternoon

Just nipped into town to get a christening card, came back with about 6 carrier bags, and I didn't buy 6 cards! Why does that always happen? We nipped in on Tuesday to get some 'summer holiday supplies' came home almost empty handed, today only had to get a card and come back with half the shops hanging off the buggy! Did have a sneaky latte though

DS2 is asleep DS1 is painting some canvases up for me Easy-peasy this summer hols lark!

Have forgotten most of what I wanted to say, but Tink, I have never ever gone off the Ofsted Reports, I remember having them compile the reports when I was at school, and I can still remember the build up them coming in, and how different that week was to every other week I ever had at school, and my mum used to be a TA and the shit she had to do to get ready for the report was just ridiculous! Nothing like how a school is run day to day. Best thing you can do is talk to the parents of kids that are there, they won't have any trouble telling you what they think! DS1's school, the Ofsted Report is nothing special, but, he loves it there, he is getting on really well, getting the right sort of encouragment for him, and while I have my odd little niggles with the school (mainly just lack of communacation), I'm pleased he is there.

Cal, !!

Sorry have completely forgotten everything else

hi ladies

thanks for school comments.
have decided will probably move to chandelsford not too far from here as area we live isnt great. also our house only has 2 bedrooms so not really big enough anyway and we have been here 5 years.
we would rent to start with.
the school ofsted was dreadful - very low and not up to standard in maths, science and english and 50% of the school caters for special needs.
my friend came around today has just gone she is 25 wks sun. was exciting comparing things she looks massive scary to think that i will get as big as that.
they are going to have a 4d scan in portsmouth for a really good price going to wait till she has hers then if really good will go for one 2
she used doppler 2.
cosmo i got my angel doppler from babymad cheaper than ebay £26.90 plus gel and postage doppler is gr8 can pick up heartbeat in 5 mins definetly a great buy
