Anyone ever conceive with the coil??

THats in in a nutshell. HAd it in for about 6-7 months, and just had first period a 3-4 weeks ago, cos Im still bfing. Feeling v nauseous last few days and (tmi alert) a lot of clear discharge, which cwas defo a symptom of mine. I know its VERY unlikely, but Ive a niggling fear.......

My mum got pregmnant with my DB with the coil after about 8months of havin it. But the again she is very unlucky LOL.

My Mum's friend conceived her third child with the coil in place, and a friend of mine was also a result of coil-failure. These were both a long time ago, so would have been old-fashioned copper coils, I don't know if that makes a difference.

my mum was a midwife and she said she saw several babies born and then the coil would come out too. sounds gross and don't know all the technicalities but I mean that it's not unheard of!!!
I had similar thoughts with mine and did 2 pregnancy tests after having coil in for 18 months, turned out negative

i did. was with my ds2. had been in place approx 8months. regular periods and then a huge bump on my belly!! i was 17weeks gone.

too risky to remove so had to keep it in and have it removed after birth. not a pleasant experience.

I am uber fertile though. conceived ds1 on my first EVER time, was on the pill and we used a condom (just to make extra sure) and the culprit in question had testicluar cancer many years before and was told he only had a 6% chance of having kids. Now that's fate....some babies are meant to be.

so 2nd time round (with DH) we were using coil as contraceptive, obv. didn't work. so this time round we relied on my breastfeeding and it worked....up until november when i conceived again!! But that was pretty much inevitable. Now DH is going for the snip after dc3 born in August....lets hope fate doesn't intend us to have anymore!

you really are uber fertile bcain! I know someone who conceived after the snip!!!

DEW it doesn't seem like that common a thing anymore. Perhaps if title read, anyone ever conceived whilst using contraception you;d get a hell of a lot of replies!!

Your scaring me now..ive had the coil since march....oh thats right you need sex to concieve ..panick over
