I tried to wait, honest Gov...but I couldn't. Got all clear result a week after BFP, due Nov, hoorah!

How long did your smear results take?

six long weeks! Buggers. I'd have pre-cancerous cells at the one 6 months before, we were about to start trying then, and I was gutted. I knew it was fairly common and I wasn't worried, I just wanted to get cracking but they'd said no. The odds were good that these ones would come back ok so I played the odds and it worked out. Probably irresponsible but my brain didn't care.

Did you have these cells?

No, was just a standard smear but because I fell pg with DS when the last one was due, it ended up getting delayed...and delayed so its been a good 8 years since last one, hence me playing it safe....

The nurse said they let you know within 6 weeks either way but I'm thinking that if was something up, I would have heard by now?

According to the nurse who did my last smear, the variation in results relates more to the processing of the paperwork (ie, labs ofetn send back in 'batches') and not whether the result is 'good' or 'bad'.
I was exactly where you were a few months ago - waiting for all clear so I could ttc (Have a history of CIN2/3). All was fine (and I'm 7 weeks pregnanct with no.4)but I did feel quite resentful when my fertile time passed (so I thought...) and the results still weren't in. Receptionist (ever helpful ) said they could take up to 12 weeks which I think was an extreme manipulation of the truth on her behalf but that to ring back again if they weren't back by 6 weeks. They arrived the next day!!

I know how frustrating the wait is, but you are doing the right thing and it's better to get piece of mind where you can in this ttc lark as there are so many things that you can't control!
