Hello - I know that there are so many people ttc their first child so I'm a bit nervous about posting here on this thread about somehting else but hope you'll forgive me if it seems insentitive to anyone.
I have a 16 week old baby and would like to start to try to conceive a second in the next few months. It took us two years to conceive our first so totally aware their are no guarentees. My question is does anyone know when breastfeeding how you can either check if you are ovulating or kick start your system without having to give up breastfeeding which I love.

as i say I really don't want to upset anyone and don't want to appear to 'want it all' when others trying to hard for a first baby so I really hope no one minds me asking here.

I've posted on the feeding section as well but just thought someone might see it here.

thanks so much and good luck to all the ttc'ers.

Hiya, I think you start to ovulate when the time between feeds increases to about 4 hours in the day and 6 hours at night. I know its not correct for anyone but I'm sure I read something like that. When I was trying to conceive DS I got hold of a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and it showed you natural ways of knowing when/if ovulation occured (temps, mucous etc!). There is a section about breastfeeding too. Its a monster of a book but might be worth a read from the library. Otherwise you could get those fertility sticks, but have no experience of them. Hope you have some good luck soon!

thanks sparkymummy. I've actually just ordered that book as a friend recommended...will get ready for a big read and expect will know more after that (or less depending on how befuddled my brain is!)
thanks for suggestions on the space of feeding. I think what I'm discovering is there is no knowing what our bodies will do - that's the miracle of it all really!
thanks again.
