I get it every month when I ovulate. Sometimes it’s just sticky and sometimes it’s more solid.

Even if you’re past ovulation you still get it? I’m 10 days post ovulation x

Did you test ovulation or just going on normal? Might be you’re ovulating late

Egg White Style Cervical Mucus is your body’s tell tale sign of being ready to receive a sperm.

TMI but if you’ve been having unprotected sex it’s probably cum then mixed with cm 😂 it can leak out a few days after

Have you done a pregnancy test if 10dpo? HCG can give you a false positive ovulation test, keep us updated!

SKLM · 26/08/2026 19:11

I had a thought. You do get a second rise of estrogen 7-10 days after you ovulate after it initially drops back down. It then falls right back down again just before your period. The slight rise can cause a second appearance of what looks like fertile mucus. Your mucus is stretchy but doesn't look completely clear. If it were clear maybe you could say late ovulation but you have done bbt and your ovulation test is negative so unlikely. If your period doesn't show up then try a pregnancy test it's still a bit early to get a reliable result from one right now although an early positive might show soon xx

The ovulation test she just posted was totally negative though?

@TrackIt Looks like a second line but could be line eyes, only way to know is to take a test.

OhBotherSaidPoo · 27/08/2026 20:11

Could be the cervix creating a plug. Test in a few days.

Yes but ovulation tests pretty much always have a second line at all times as LH is always present in your system. They are only positive when the second line is darker or as dark as the control line. So that is a negative ovulation test.

@TrackIt I'm 11 months in so don't worry I know what a positive/negative OPK looks like haha. Mine don't always have a faint line, like anything baseline levels vary between individuals. Easy at home LH strips have a 25mIU/ml sensitivity. Average LH levels in luteal phase vary- 0.7-12.9 mIU/mL (sources vary), every woman is different. Some will have a faint line, some won't show a line at all. HCG and LH have a similar molecular structure so in theory either could trigger a second line.

Re the faint line... these tests are qualitive, not quantative. For example, if you have a lot to drink before you do a HPT you might show a fainter line, which is why FMU is recommended. The concentration of HCG would be quite low at 10dpo with avg implantation happening around 8-10, not it's not an unplausible hypothesis that a second line could have been triggered by HCG. (Three science based degrees here which included lectures in molecular biology and embrology 😂). So yes you could be right and it could be detecting OPs baseline LH, alternatively it could be picking up an early level of HCG. The only way to know for sure... is to take a test, but I understand why OP may not want to test early.

Your original comment said HCG can cause false positive ovulation tests. I pointed out this is not a positive ovulation test. Whether or not it has a second line the fact is it is still not a positive ovulation test. I didn’t question whether or not HCG can cause any second line and I have no idea whether that is true or not. For me, (5 years TTC so far although I have long given up ovulation tests) mine always have a second line even if very faint. I’m also prone to getting a slight LH surge just before my period. When I’ve been pregnant I’ve also had very very dark positive ovulation tests which was obviously picking up HCG.

@mummato1xo How are you getting on? any updates? ❤

@TrackIt **A second line then but you get the idea. Sorry to hear it's been a long time for you, that's tough.

Fingers crossed for all of us 💕

Hey ladies! No luck here, must’ve been a surge of hormones or something ☺️ it’s okay! We go on holiday in a few weeks! We’re both taking vitamins now for a few months and will start properly trying in December ☺️ thanks lovelies! Xx hope you all have lovely pregnancies or get your BFP’s soon xx
