Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar really.

Since having my 3rd daughter 4 years ago I’ve experienced mid cycle bleeding every month. It starts just after ovulation and continues up until my period.

I’ve had numerous investigations but nothing of note has been found.

We’ve started trying to conceive. This month, I spotted as usual from ovulation until my period was due (tomorrow) so I thought I was out. Especially as my ‘spotting’ this month has been slightly heavier and as well as the usual brown and pink blood, there has also been some bright red blood.

Today I had a strong positive pregnancy test at 13 DPO and now I feel really confused but also worried. I rang my GP who said the consultant dealing with my spotting would be best to contact. I’ve tried all day to contact him to no avail. I called my GP back at 4pm and received a no-reply text message reiterating that she couldn’t help. No advice on who to go to or what to do next. The early pregnant unit hasn’t picked up the phone all day.

My own understanding of my mid cycle bleeding is that it’s likely caused by low progesterone. As I’ve had bleeding and recurrent miscarriages in the past the NICE guidelines state I should commence progesterone supplementation but I don’t understand who is meant to do this for me.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and all has been OK? I feel like I’m waiting for my body to miscarry this pregnancy and it’s a horrible feeling 😟

Thanks for reading

I haven't sorry but I think some people have had luck with a private prescription for progesterone, do you think you could get that from a private GP or maybe the early pregnancy unit could help? Congratulations on your BFP.

Just actually googled it and you can also get one from a fertility clinic, most will do private appointments, I would contact them asap, I think if you get a letter from them your GP can keep prescribing for you so you don't have to pay every time.

I got progesterone from the early pregnancy unit at my local hospital. I went to GP about bleeding (and previous loses) who told me to contact EPU. They have online referral form. Couldn’t use it until 5 weeks though.
