heyyy all

just looking for anyone TTC and wanting to go through the journey together. I’m 38, have a child from a previous relationship, my partner has 2 from previous relationship. We’ve been trying for 19 months, had a miscarriage around 8 weeks just over a year ago and a chemical pregnancy 5 months ago.

weve both had lots of tests which have come back normal or better than they should be for my age but not luck yet. Tracking OPKs, started the temps but I’m mental enough without tracking that too so stopped 😂

along with finding others going through simialr, I’m here for any advice and suggestions - supplements, vitamins or wild unhinged things that worked?! 😂 here for it all ☕️

thanks✌🏽 x

I’m sorry for your loss. Yoga? I got pregnant with my second.. yoga was part of my stress management.. also, if nothing happens in next 6 months go to see IVF doc?

Thanks for the suggestion @Mullaghanish i do definitely need better stress management/relief!

I’ve decided that if nothing in next 3ish months I’m going to have to seriously considering IVF and look into consultations x

Sorry you are going through this. Things I'm convinced helped me but cannot know for sure (nac supplements, melatonin, changing to an anti inflammatory diet (all for egg quality). Tests can show egg quantity but not quality. The most unhinged thing which I am convinced helped the most as I conceived the first month I did it was basically doing artificial insemination at home as opposed to sex. I thought if next step was ivf might aswell try it and conceived that m9nth but I'm aware this takes any romance out of the situation and is very strange. Best of luck. I had a lot.of friends swear by accupuncure also xx

Probably not what you want to hear, but we conceived the month we had finally given up and started to accept that children probably weren’t part of our future.

Apparently it’s very common that taking the stress, expectation, hopes out of the equation, means a lot of people conceive when they stop trying! (Currently 6 months pregnant so we’re not over the line yet though)

I just said this to another poster in another chat. It really works!

Thanks for the replies 🫶🏼

I wish I could be totally chill and be like oh I’ll just forget about it and if it happens it happens but it’s just not in my nature 😩 which is why this is probably driving me as mental as it is!!

i have looked at artificial insemination but really don’t think that would be an option for us due to the impacts of it as you say takes all the romance away, there’s already enough of that lost after 19 months, losses, OPKs, tracking CM the list goes on 🫠

I wish it was an easy as we were taught in school!! Unprotected sex at ANY moment, boom, pregnant!!

I was the exact same as you. Even if i tried to pretend I wasn't going to care that month it was still all I could think about and I would secretly hoping that this would be the month etc.
I totally get it. The way I seen it was it was worth a try because we had already done semen samples etc for testing and thought what is the harm in a couple of times giving it a go alongside having sex. It could have just been coincidence but we did fall pregnant and in some ways it took a bit of stress off because I knew I'd already hit the "right time" with the insemination so when we did have sex it didn't feel as much pressure if that makes sense. But I knew it would sound a bit deranged when I proposed it to.my partner. Luckily he is quite chill about these things and said he would give it a go.
I've heard accupuncure is really good aswell though.
