Hi everyone! Hoping someone can help because I’m very confused 😆 We’re TTC our first and after 2 miscarriages this year I wanted to be more sure on my dates next time so we’ve started properly tracking things. I’ve used OPK’s for the last month but started temping this month and it’s confusing me completely! So I got postive/peak OPK’s on Saturday which was CD15 for me and they were negative by the evening of CD16. I could have sworn I ovulated on Monday due to other symptoms but then I had a large temp dip on tuesday, followed by a rise Wednesday Thursday or Friday so I’m assuming that means ovulation Tuesday but I thought 3 days from positive OPK would be too late for ovulation?

I think it can sometimes take a few days for your temp to rise after O
ive had contradicting lh tests and temps and I’ve kind leaned towards the lh tests more

It needs more than three days of elevated temp plots to pinpoint ovulation. Temping is helping to when you have already ovulated, not when you will ovulate if that makes sense? It’s less a prediction tool and more of a confirmation tool.

If you had clear positive on ovulation tests, I wouldn’t discard it just yet as FF often changes its mind after a few more days of plotting temps! Good luck.

It's a decent first month, well done. You should have seen my first month temping 🤣
I wouldn't take your temps as gospel on month one, but see it as a skill you need to learn. Are you:
Doing the temp after at least five hours of solid sleep?
Doing it at the same time each day, within 15 minutes each way?
Not sleeping with your mouth open?
Not drinking alcohol?
A steady bedroom temperature?
No illness?
Not speaking or moving before temping?

And so on! Any of these things can affect a single temp and whilst a dodgy temp in the middle of the follicular phase doesn't matter much, a dodgy temp on ovulation day definitely does. You will get much better at knowing your body and your pattern, and be able to recognize when a temp is suspect.

Also it looks like your opk on day 16 is pretty peaky too - the lines look equally dark? I also wouldn't discount these not being perfectly accurate.

Thanks ladies! Maybe it’ll just take a few months to get to used to- I’ve been taking it at the same time every day first thing and after a stint of sleep but what with the heatwave recently god knows how that’s impacted it, our bedroom has been like a sauna 😆 FF has put ovulation as Wednesday today so still a little confused but I’ll just wing it this month and see what happens- hopefully it’ll start making sense soon 😂

The dotted cross hairs mean FF is not sure its that day, more an estimate. If its sure you get solid cross hairs.
I think you can be certain that ovulation was between day 17 and day 19 though, which is accurate enough for TTC purposes, especially on your first month temping!
