hiya ariel, i had a reversal 22months ago, i had been sterilised for 10 years, my tubes had been cut not clamped. so after all these months of ttc, nothings happened, i have just had a hsg, doc wouldnt tell me the results, but the nurse told me it looked like 1 tube was working, good news. anyway, we had to go private for my op as i already have 4 kids, it cost 4000, if you have to go private just make sure you do a bit of research and find a good surgeon. good luck.

hi im thinking of having mine reveresed. Any tips on how to choose a 'good' surgeon. All the ones ive spoken to so far only do 1 or 2 of these ops a year!!!

There will be no question about 'if' you have to go private, it WILL have to be done privately.

Might also be worth asking your consultant about the merits of going straight for IVF, rather than attempting reversal.

mags98 · 06/09/2008 18:17

Yes locally this is what they do as the success rates are better than for reversal.

Thanks i saw one consultant and he said he would recommend surgery over IVF but he doesnt want to do it laparoscopically ( you know what i mean sorry spelling bad and im being lazy!)i would much prefer that as want to have it done and be back at work in a week without them knowing!!! He also only does 1 or 2 of these ops a year!! Im struggling to find much information though about 'good' or experienced consultants in this field.

I was sterilised when I was 31 and had it reversed the day before my 40th birthday. I fell pregnant about 4 months later but unfortunately miscarried.
I Fell again and our daughter is now 20 months old, a sister for my other 2 children, aged 21 years old and 19 years old!
My op was done in Hampshire by a consultant who is highly respected and was brilliant. Mr Adam Moors, he does loads of these ops. He set up his own private company through Bupa called gynaechoice with 2 other consultants. Check out their website, if it helps.
Good luck!
