So I'm pretty much put this month, giving up all hope its happening this month. I know August is still a week away but thought I'd start a thread for the August TTCers.
How's everyone doing?

Hey! Yes, and I’ve had a reaction to the dust/perished insulation wafting around everywhere and my scalp, neck, chest etc. is covered in itchy red bumps so I am on antihistamines. Feel a right drama queen 😆.

Yes just hoping I’m far too early. How are you doing? When are you planning to test?

Oh no!! That sounds awful!! Any chance you could escape to your parent’s house or something for a few days to let the reaction die down?
I think I’m 6 dpo. Monday would hopefully be 10 dpo so would normally test then, though always try (and fail) to hold out until 12 dpo so Wednesday 😂

Hello! Please could I join? Cycle day 6 here and TTC baby #1. Taking a very relaxed approach at the moment as life is busy but a May baby would be amazing so secretly very hopeful this month.

Good luck @Sunshine78910!

I’m trying to be optimistic, a bit of pinkish blood while wiping last night but nothing this morning.

Woke up with a bad headache and have been crampy for days now. I don’t normally spot before my period (or at least I haven’t for about 6 months) so I’m really clinging to the final hope that this could be IB but I know it’s more likely to just be AF starting.

I think that if there’s no more blood or a proper start by Friday evening/Saturday morning or even Sunday if I can hold out, I might do another test.

Yesterday was 14DPO but my luteal phase is always 16/17DPO so I’m really hoping I’m not out yet.

Can I ask a quick question as I’m fairly new to OPKs and they are confusing me somewhat… according to my app it says CD25 was my peak. We managed to BD only on CD24 and 25 but then hubby went away for work. Today is CD27 and it looks like OPK is high again. Does that mean I’m gearing up to ovulate today/tomorrow instead? CM is not reliable as it’s so fluctuating through the day and I’m not doing BBTs atm. Thanks!

I reckon I’m cycle day 3 and my husband just asked if we could test yet 😂 nice he’s so excited tbh

I’d be confused by that too! You got a lovely clear peak on CD25 and I would definitely have assumed ovulation.

I’m not an expert but for me, if I fail to ovulate my body then takes another 2 weeks+ to try again! I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone try twice within a couple of days but I might be wrong here!

With any luck you did ovulate two days again, it’s just a small surge that will go back down this evening. But I would test again this afternoon/ evening to see what happens.

That is really sweet! Think my DP is more thinking “can we have a different topic of conversation please!”

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy @Silverglass my partner will ask me if I’ve got my peak! We’ve both learned so much since tracking to be fair!

Hey team,

Joining from the July thread as my period arrived right on time today... again. 😒 On to cycle 11.

This is turning into such a long, drawn-out process, but I'm trying to tell myself that every cycle is one step closer. 🤞 Here's hoping this is our month.

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 06/08/2026 14:03

Hi @AndyBerrick84 Sorry to hear your period has arrived. It really is so disheartening. There are several of us on the thread who seem to be in it for the long haul! My plan/ hope was to be 8 months pregnant by now.
Hopefully this is our month! (Feels overdue if you ask me 😩!)

Biyobio · 06/08/2026 14:17

Hi, TTC for #3. Im on CD14 on cycle 1 and taken a lets see approach this month but already regretting that! In the TWW painful wait.

It’s such a ball ache, isn’t it?! I was pretty chilled last month, but I think I’m going to put a bit more effort in this cycle and might give SMEP a try. We’re averaging sex 3–4 days over my fertile window, so we’re definitely hitting the key days, but I figure it can’t hurt to be a bit more strategic.

What’s your situation? How long have you been trying, and is this your first? I’m really hoping to be pregnant before my 39th birthday. (in 4 months) 😅🤞

inkgirl · 06/08/2026 16:41

Welcome newbies, hope you are all well.

Ive been off the pill 5 weeks now I believe and still no period or positive pregnancy test. So still waiting on my body to sort it self out.
Had a blood test last week which came back as being anemic for some reason they want to do another blood test tomorrow.

3-4 times over the fertile period is good! Wouldn’t worry about that. Think I did it 4 times this fertile period? Five if you count the day after ovulation but that always feels like a bit of a waste of time (for conception purposes!) anyway. My fertile mucus had long gone by then 😂

I’ve been trying since December, so 8, almost 9 months now. Was trying for a September baby and you can see how well that’s gone 😩. I do have PCOS and very long cycles and really seem to be struggling to ovulate atm. Hoping I’m 6 dpo at the moment but I got it wrong last cycle so taking it with a pinch of salt.

This is my third time TTC. First took 7 months to conceive, second was 2 weeks! So this is the longest I’ve ever had to TTC. Finding it difficult mentally at times, but find threads like this mostly help.

How about you? Are you TTC your first? Are you trying any different supplements? I’m wondering if I should get DP on something. Really hope you get your BFP before your birthday!

Just a question - again feeding the delusion here.

If what I had last night was indeed implantation bleeding and I wake up tomorrow with no period still, would a pregnancy test potentially show positive?

I had a positive nine days after my lh peak before, so eight days after ovulation, but I had to put my phone flashlight behind the strip to see it. That must have been close to the day after implantation.

It would potentially show in a few days if it was indeed implantation bleeding i believe

I’d definitely give it one more day I think, test on Saturday. I think it’s about 2 days from implantation bleeding to a line on a test? But that’s just from being on TTC threads, not actual data 😂

DancingThroughLife02 · 06/08/2026 22:28

Ah i don’t know if i have the patience to wait that long!
Technically tomorrow would be the first day of my period so i am worried that if implantation happened this late would it still be viable anyway.

ThisGoldPoet · 06/08/2026 23:31

I did a test this morning but it was completely negative, not even a question of a line. App says I’m 13dpo today, AF due Saturday. I’ve had very brief (as in one wipe and gone) spotting on Monday, Wednesday and today, cramps on and off all week. Always had a regular cycle and I’ve never had spotting before a period before so I’m very confused!

Going to try and wait till Sunday to test again if AF hasn’t fully arrived. Trying to cheer myself up by reading about people who have tested negative until 14/15/16dpo but I’m quite concerned about potential perimenopause (I’m almost 35)

Hello!

I am new here and ready to lock in!

Stop preventing in July, and this is our first month properly trying. I haven't learnt all the abbreviations yet. :D

My game plan: Have been using Flo to track my periods since December, so using that as a guide for now. If that doesn't work after a couple of months, I'll buy some ovulation strips.

Honestly, I am not one of those people who's been desperate for babies all my life. I am 31 and started taking it more seriously once my friends and family members started having babies in the last few years, but I have had v mixed feeling about it, although I was definitely leaning towards children rather than not.

Until now I guess. As soon as we started seriously trying this month, something clicked. Hope I can keep myself grounded for however long this is going to take.

Oh wow were you testing negative up to that point? I don’t remember too well with my son and annoyingly I didn’t record any of it but I think I found out either the day of my missed period or the day after, but I hadn’t tested before that. I’ll not give up hope just yet, might even try testing again tomorrow

Welcome to the group.

It can be an emotional rollercoster to say the least.
I ended up crying to my boyfriend last night because I really wanted to give him a baby because of how he is with my kids
