Faint positives 3 different cycles? Help!

Hey ladies, I really need some help! A bit of background I have been trying to conceive for 7 months now, I’m nearly 36 and this would be my first pregnancy. As far as all my basic tests and ultrasounds go there is no reason why I shouldn’t be able to fall pregnant.

I been through so much heartbreak with my ex husband for 10 years trying before and going through an intense fertility journey and unfortunately we learned there were severe fertility issues on his side which meant it was physically impossible and 5 years of negative after negative before knowing it took a heavy impact on our lives.

Fast forward a few years I am now in a happy relationship and we have decided to start trying for a baby, I am terrified of going through the same thing however within the 7 months of trying, I have what seems to of had 3 faint positives.

All these test photos were taken at 5 minutes at 11/12dpo with clear blue and first response. They all showed colour and line thickness. I had an evap on another cycle and you could tell the clear difference of a grey thin line so these 3 cycles when I saw them as you can imagine I got very excited. Each time I waited the usual 2 days which the plan was to retest and confirm but before I could there I start bleeding approx 2-3 days after getting these results.

the last one in June it was spotting for 2 days and I remained hopeful but then it turned to full flow. The other two before pretty much started full flow.

I am tracking my ovulation with clear blue monitor, advancd clear blue digital and easy at home sticks and I’m regular and getting positives on these every month. I am taking fertility supplements, we have even tried mixing in home insemination as well as the usual way. We do this before, during and after ovulation and using flo to track everything there as well.

i tend to wait until 12 dpo to start testing even though it kills me with the waiting :( but are these even real positives? Are they chemical pregnancies? Are they dodgy cruel evaps? The other cycles the tests were just stark white and no question it was negative and as I said the evap line I had before was clearly an evap and thin and grey. Until I see the words staring back at me on a digital I’m actually so scared to use any strip tests now! Has any one had this? It’s so heartbreaking! 💔

I think they're chemical pregnancies. Faint lines then bleeding and negative tests sounds likely, and looks like when I had one. Sorry it's such a hard journey but it can just take time, especially when a little older as there are less good quality eggs. My friend always took a year to have a successful pregnancy, both times, no issues just to get the right match. I would suggest going back to the Dr just to check things out again, as you're over 6 months of trying and over 35 so they should refer you. And mention the chemicals you might get referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks so much for your comment @DinoDances- I just feel so alone as all my friends and my sister have all had a few babies between them and one got pregnant one cycle of trying and you just always think somethings wrong 😔 I just had a progesterone test today (cycle day 22) and then I’ve got a full hormone and usual blood panel which would be my day 2-3 of next cycle if we’re not successful this one of course. Also got a gynae appt beginning of August so I’m trying to do everything, I told the doctors about these tests but they just said do the bloods etc first and then go from there so I guess we shall see! Thank you again for the comment! Really appreciate it 😊

I feel your pain op. I used to get this most months . We TTC for ten years. Went through horrendous fertility journey. I became OBSESSED with testing and had these faint lines most months. The only advice I can give is try not to test until at least the day, if not couple of days after your period is due. It’s easy to give the advice, totally different when you’re in the desperate for a positive test boat.
I used to refer to these ones as ‘not sticking’, like they’ve tried to implant but the didn’t stick, hence the faint lines. I think this happens to most women, but most women aren’t regularly testing before period due so don’t know it’s happening.
very best of luck to you x

I would advise staying away from the clearblue tests. Both of those look like the dye has run as they’re both really kind of smudged at the bottom. That won’t give you an accurate result as the dye can run into the line causing false positives. FRER used to be the best but even those these days can show indent lines that look really clear. Like the PP said I’d advise waiting until you’ve missed a period before testing and use a digital at that point. I TTC for years and had so many evaps and dye runs and indents so I know it’s awful. I would never use a clearblue in my life again. And FRER I would be cautious about as well.

This was my FRER indent that caused me a lot of heartbreak when I found out it was false. (Image takes a while to show up)
