I am 5 days late for my period (sorry, don´t know any of the acronyms used here), and I just did a test which was negative. But I think I am pregnant, so I went to buy another test, and the chemist said negative results are quite often wrong. The instructions in the new test say, if you´ve had a negative result but think you´re pregnant, it could be because the urine is too dilute, or too early in pregnancy. It said to do another test first thing in the morning.

Is it true that this is more reliable, using first pee? Does that match with people´s experiences? I want to use my second test in the best possible way, if you see what I mean - to get the most accurate result.

FMU (first morning urine) is the best urine to use as the hcg will have had time to build up. If you must test at other times of the day wait 4 hours without eating or having a drink and then test.

Oh and sometimes people do not get a + result (BFP)for quite a few days, one of the ladies on our thread had to wait till she was 9 days late to get a BFP for her ds2.

I think it is best to do the test with the first pee you do in the morning because it has the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone (hcg).
I hope that helps.
