C-Section Scar Niche

Hi, ive struggled with trying to concieve baby number 2 for about 20 months now. I had 2 early losses at months 3&4.
I have just had a 3d saline scan which discovered a large C-section Niche. Everything im reading is pointing toward this being the reason for my secondary infertility. If anyone has any experience of this they could share, it would be so helpful. Feel so emotionally drained right now. Months and months of investigations to find this out now

I have one and I think its why i couldn't conceive again. We've finished trying now but if I was younger I would get it repaired before carrying on ttc.

Ask about the extra risk of uterine rupture. Its horrifying that c section scars are not checked as routine!

I'm sorry if this is insensitive, but what is it?

I'm sorry you're struggling, we struggled to conceive number 1 💐

@BiteSizeByzantinei know!! I had no idea of the risks and just feel gutted I have only found out this far down the line. Im 39 so time isnt on my side ! Were you trying for a long time before you found out about yours?

@HollyGolightly4its basically a defect in your c section scar. It forms a little pouch. Apparently very common in c sections. Some go undetected because they dont cause any issues. However, then there are people like myself. Struggling with infertility and post period spotting and what feels like 100 investigations later, I finally think I have found the reason. It causes fluid to pool in the niche and can create a toxic environment, killing off sperm and of course making it difficult for embryos to implant 😓

Sorry I don’t have any advice and so sorry to hear you’re going through this, I can only imagine the emotional toll. I’m interested to know if you have had symptoms with the niche? I’m month 9 TTC our second, and had a c section previously. I’ve had one 5 week early loss in that. I’m 33 and didn’t struggle to conceive last time, we have a 2 year old. I’m really wondering if this could be something to do with my c section as well.
