When to ask for progesterone?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. I’ve had two previous miscarriages and after my last one I was told that when I get another positive test I should contact the EPU and ask to be prescribed progesterone. I’ve just had a positive test (14DPO) and am wondering if I should call them today or do they need to scan me first to confirm viability as I don’t think they can do this until about week 6? Or is it easier to go via GP?

Give them a call and they’ll advise when to start.

I would call today rather than waiting for the scan - the progesterone is to help you get to the scan!

Definitely call them today. I have previously been prescribed progesterone from a positive test, and they were able to get it to me that day. You may hear online that sometimes progesterone isn't offered until after a 6 week scan to confirm a pregnancy is in the right place, but that's not always the case. Especially if you've previously suffered from early losses and/or experience any early bleeding.
