Dumb it down for me?? DPO?

Hello, need a bit of help! Can someone explain to me like im a idiot.... how to work out dpo dates, i got a 'peak' approx 24th/25th May which I've read usually indicates egg release is imminent, but im not exactly sure when I count it from an how many DPO I actually am..... I've done a test which is negative but I think I might of been too early

I normally count the day after the peak as the day of ovulation, so then the day after that is 1dpo x

You are best to use an app to help you calculate this.

Before you can count DPO, you need to pinpoint the exact day you ovulated - have you used ovulation prediction or are you basing it on temperature or cervical mucas?

@soontobeamama I have the flo app and clearblue but they are at odds with each other lol id thought I was 8dpo but I dont know if im right or not! I feel like I've forgotten how it all works since last time round lol

I use my Apple Watch to monitor my wrist temperature so it logs when it recognises a raised temp pattern that suggests ovulation. I also use lh strips and I generally ovulate 36-48 hours after my peak. My temps corroborate this

My peak was the 23rd and 24th so im assuming I ovulated 24th or 25th? Im just utterly confused today

One app says i can test now another says the 5th? So im guessing id be 8dpo would that be right?

If it's your first cycle, I'd honestly just have sex every 1-2 days after your period has ended. Don't get into tracking or obsessing at this stage!

honestly its way to early to test. I’d assume ovulation 25th making 26th 1dpo. So today would be 7dpo. Id wait until 10dpo to test and even then that could be too early.

@Peonies12 yeah I know i shouldn't, this will be my 3rd (big gap between first and 2nd with a MMC inbetween) so im a bit OTT im older and heavier now so I guess im just a little over anxious about it all

In that case, I would go with your cervical mucus / egg white mucus presenting indicates ovulation.

A more reliable option is to DTD every couple of days following the end of your period.

@soontobeamama im pretty sure it was the 24th and 25th id been getting high readings and thought i had missed it (said expected around 16th to 18th I think but I do think that the 7dpo makes sense to be honest I appreciate everyone's help and advice thank you
