Ok I think I posted on the wrong thread before. I am 38 and had regular periods my whole life. My cycle usually on average around 26-28 days however the last couple of years seems to go down to 24 and up to 30 on like a wave cycle - is that normal or no?! I don’t know, but never more than 2-3 days late.

im 7 days late. I’ve been having period aches and cramps for 10-12 days. I have done two pregnancy tests on the 2nd and 4th day which were negative. I’m exhausted, the last two days barely could get of bed. I have mouth ulcers, achey teeth, bloated, anxiety…..

I had bloods done around 2 months ago because of my hormones which all came back good bad low in vitamin d, had a feel of tummy and everything fine. I would say I’ve been feeling better the last two months until I realised my period was late. Periods heavy but 5-6 days. Pms symptoms.

my mum I don’t think started peri until early 40’s… I’m 38 so not far off.

i think my plan is to do another test tomorrow as that will be 7/8 days late, and book a doctors appointment if negative. My question is - has anyone had this before?? What was your outcome? I have health anxiety so trying to think of all possible scenarios.

Yep. Late 30’s I went from regular as clockwork to periods all over the place and hormonal hell. Some months late periods, some months periods two weeks apart, some months period missing completely.

Is your low Vit D being treated? That can cause horrendous exhaustion and anxiety. How was your B12? The deficiencies can sometimes go together, even though Vit D is sunshine, and low b12 can cause mouth ulcers. Did they check thyroid? That can affect periods.

I wouldn’t go to the Drs about one late/missing period though -you’d need to monitor and go after maybe 3 issues, so they have something to go on. What in particular is it you are thinking, in terms of it making you anxious I mean?
