How long TTC baby #2?

Hi All,

I am currently 4 months into ttc for baby #2. DS was conceived after 9 months, had a chemical on cycle 4 then conceived cycle 9.

I am shocked by how intense I have found ttc this time around. I really thought I would be able to approach it with more rational thinking but the longer it’s taking, the more desperate and sad I am for my son to have a sibling.

How long did it take everyone to conceive baby number 2, and any advice or wise words?

Much appreciated x

We tried for 2 months with no results however I wasn’t doing anything other than having regular unprotected intercourse.

Decided to start started taking Folic acid and became pregnant the same month. No idea if it was that or just a coincidence.

Thank you! I’m taking some pregnacare and other supplements but nothing so far! I honestly thought I was pregnant this month too which is a real smack in the face 🤦🏽‍♀️ xx

I’m the same. We were very lucky and conceived our son first try. We are currently cycle 5 of trying for number 2. It’s really consumed me too. I have taken a step back and stopped tracking etc etc and just trying to go with the flow more. Not even sure when I’m due AF. Wishing you lots of luck!!

It’s so hard isn’t it!? The uncertainty and the unknown is just so overwhelming ☹️ I think maybe I should take a step back. How old is your son? Xx

@OneHeapedTeaspoonOfSugar I conceived my first ds first cycle trying. Now pregnant with the second age 39, I had a chemical then 3rd cycle after that I conceived and currently 9 weeks so 4 months total. I got pretty consumed with it this time too. For the last cycle I tracked my ovulation scrupulously with lh sticks and the pre mom app then we were successful. But who knows it may have happened anyway. So many variables which is frustrating. I took pregnacare the last cycle too. Good luck I hope it happens for you soon xx

He’s 5. Took us a long time to be ready for another. And now I think should we have started trying earlier as the age gap is getting bigger and bigger. How old is your first child?

Ah it’s so hard isn’t it with hindsight to think you should or shouldn’t have done something!? My son is 11 months, so we’re still very early on but I’ve just got a feeling things will take a bit of time! X

@OneHeapedTeaspoonOfSugar no worries at all.. funny thing about TTC, you never know when it will happen. Although that feels obvious, at the time when you are going through it you kind of lose sight of it. It might take a while like you say, or it could happen this very cycle. I was losing hope after 3 months which is silly because that isn't long at all, but the we were successful and I couldn't believe it. If you ever want to chat drop me a PM x
