TTC #2: Short cycles/luteal phase

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice or success stories. We are TTC our second baby.
My cycles used to be very regular, but in the last 3 months they have shortened to 22-23 days. I’m tracking ovulation and it seems I’m ovulating around CD10-CD12, leaving me with a luteal phase of only 10 days.
I am still breastfeeding my first, but only 2 feeds a day now. Has anyone experienced their cycle shortening like this while weaning or still nursing? And did you manage to conceive baby #2 with such a short luteal phase?
I’m worried it’s not enough time for implantation. Would love to hear your experiences!
Thanks!
Lu

Mine were 9/10 days and I had a private progesterone blood test at 7 dpo. My levels were 13 showing I ovulated as above 9/10 but ideally 30 + to concieve so a bit on the low side. I sent them to our fertility Dr and she prescribed progesterone suppositories which I’m starting this month. We have been ttc our second since July last year bad had other complications so can’t say of this has stopped me getting preg or not. I’d recommend a blood test I did an online one and posted it think it was around £40

Thanks so much for sharing! That’s really helpful. I’m in Spain so I’ll look into getting a progesterone blood test here around 7 dpo to see where my levels are. It's reassuring to know there are options like progesterone supplements if needed. Good luck this month with the suppositories!

I was in the same position as you but feeding to sleep for naps druing the day and BF at night multiple times. My LPs were 8 ,9 and 7 days long for the cycles I tracked.

I started off cutting the day feeds and started taking vitamin b6 complex as I read this could help lengthen LP.

As it so happened I got pregnant on my 4th cycle of tracking. Hard to say if this was anything I had changed or if I had an early implanter! Im 99% sure I felt implantation cramps at 6dpo and actually got my positive 9dpo so that would make sense.

I researched it alot and what I came out with wad that a short LP over time did not have effect on fertility as long as it was longer than 6/7 days. Implantation occurs 6-12 after ovulation which is such a big variance, you just have to hope and wait for the right egg to come along ☺️

Thank you so much for sharing your story! It truly gives me a lot of peace of mind. I’m in that exact same spot right now (still breastfeeding at night and dealing with a 23-day cycle), and it can be quite scary to feel like your body is 'running out of time' every month.
Knowing that you got your positive with a similar luteal phase makes me feel so much more confident. Congrats on your success 🥰👏
