Faint positive tests at 19DPO with no progression, likely chemical pregnancy?

If I’m honest I do know the likely answer to this but 16dpo I got a faint line when my period was 3/4 days late, however I’d not tested before that. I track my ovulation with OPK so know roughly when I should have ovulated. I’m now 19dpo and my lines have not really progressed or gotten any darker but are still there, albeit faint. So I’m assuming this will be a chemical? I’ve had some mild cramps on and off since I got my positive test but nothing major, but don’t really have any other symptoms apart from swollen boobs. I’ve had no bleeding.

Realistically should I start bleeding in the next few days? Is it worth contacting my GP for bloods or are they likely to suggest just waiting?

Feeling absolutely devastated, we have been TTC baby #2 for 6 months and this is the first hint of a positive test we’ve had in that time 😔

Hi OP,
I am sorry you’re going through this. I have had two chemical pregnancies with a later loss in between so I know how it feels.
It’s difficult as some will say take no notice of the tests a positive is a positive etc but I also know from experience when a test line isn’t progressing and is getting fainter, I will start bleeding a few days later.
Before TTC I had no idea about chemicals and although it doesn’t take your pain away right now they are incredibly common and may of happened several times throughout our sexual life but we would never of known if we were not tracking and testing.
I hold onto hope for you but I also understand the devastation once you have seen that line x x

Thank you for replying 🥰 and I’m so sorry about your losses too. My test has gone almost negative this morning but I am still waiting to start bleeding. I really hope it starts soon as I’m finding the waiting game really hard now. Having conceived our first pretty easily without anything like this, I naively didn’t even think about having to navigate a loss. Xx
