New here and hoping someone with experience in tracking ovulation can help.
We’ve been ttc no1 since I came off the pill 14 months ago. However in that time I’ve also been diagnosed with PCOS (although my FSH / LH levels are normal) and struggle with extremely long / virtually nonexistent cycles.
I had a hycosy a couple of weeks ago and think I have ovulated this week. I’m currently on CD37. On Tuesday night (CD33) I spotted EWCM, have had a veery high sex drive all week and getting flashing smileys on clearblue advanced digital ovulation tests CD 34-36 but never a solid smiley. Yesterday (CD36) I also had lots of cramping / bloating and saw EWCM again.
Frustratingly, my DH has been in the US all week for a work trip only getting home this morning (CD37). I did an ov test (boots own brand) first thing this morning and it was negative. I had already resigned myself to the fact that we’ve missed this chance, but we DTD anyway.
I decided to test again this afternoon using clearblue and got a solid smiley!
What’s going on here? Is it common to get false negatives on tests, or was it the fact that I tested my first wee of the day? Can LH dip then shoot back up again in the same day? And is it normal to have symptoms in the ~4 days leading up to your peak / ovulation?
If we’re still in with a chance, I’m going to make sure we dtd again tomorrow.
I’m 33 and the longer my cycle woes continue, the more anxious im getting, so want to make sure we use every opportunity!
