Trying for baby number two after chemicals, any positive stories or advice?

Hi all - been ttc baby no.2 for 6 months now and I know people have been trying for much much longer but this does feel really disheartening. I’ve had 2 chemicals in that time and now negative pregnancy tests at 11dpo and I just feel sad and fed up. My DD is 4 and had absolutely no trouble in getting pregnant with her so what could be happening now? I’m taking vitamins, tried baby aspirin and nothing - has anyone got any positive stories and if so did you do anything different!?

Thanks in advance x

Currently 11 weeks pregnant after two chemicals and two first trimester losses. If you can afford to go private for fertility testing I’d reccomend that: AMH testing, saline sonogram, HSG testing, sperm testing and uterine biopsy to test for infections.

I would also start CoQ10.

I am sorry for your losses, it’s really hard.

@pepperminticecream gosh I’m so sorry you went through those losses that’s so awful but a massive congratulations to you on your pregnancy now! Will have a look into some fertility testing, I have been taking coq10 but only since last month so need to give it some more time to work perhaps. Do you mind me asking if your tests came back clear or did you have any further treatments?

Almost everything came back clear. I did have scar tissue that I needed two procedures to remove but that was caused by my last D&C. We did do IVF for this pregnancy because we wanted to genetically test our embryos prior to implanting. We only had one (out of four) embryos come back as genetically unhealthy so either the CoQ10 that I took for four months prior really helped or my losses were just really bad luck (the two later losses where genetically tested and has chromosome issues so we know that was the issue with those losses).

Other things I did prior to our egg retrieval: workout and weight lift for a few months (and now) and walk loads. Cut out processed food and stopped drinking alcohol.

My husband is already very healthy and doesn’t drink so the only changes he made was to add CoQ10 and stop using the sauna.

loss is so hard but in most cases a healthy baby will follow. Getting the tests done is a good idea just to make sure nothing physical (scar tissue, fibroids) are preventing implantation.

I finally got pregnant after 18 years trying then had a chemical. Following that I successfully had my son via ivf .
Im trying for number 2 now and I had a miscarriage in September at 6 weeks followed by 2 chemicals in the next 2 cycles and then next cycle got pregnant again and im currently 7 weeks. I had a early scan last week. While its still extremely early , im trying to be hopeful that this one's sticks since its the furthest weve got.
Ive been on every supplement out there for years hoping to improve egg quality but to be honest , I think its luck of the draw. Loss is extremely common as not every embryo will progress unfortunately. I think you just have to keep going until one sticks
