spotting between periods. advice needed (particularly from PCOS sufferers)

I am currently ttc number 2 and this will be cycle number 5. I also have PCOS, but managed to conceive DS (2.2) without much bother.

I am on CD 12 of this cycle and my cycles are fairly regular at 27-29 days. Yesterday and today I have had spotting. I suppose like EWCM with streaks of fresh blood although yesterday it was more like pre period spotting (TMI sorry!). I am very confused.

It can't be implantation spotting as I had my period as normal and this is only CD 12. I never usually get ovulation spotting and surely it would be too early for ovulation anyway? I suspect it is my hormones playing up due to PCOS and maybe the reason I haven't conceived yet, which worries me. Or could it be due to lots of BD at the weekend

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I tell my GP?

I would visit your GP bearing in mind you have PCOS as well. It may be that even though your periods are more regular, you are not actually ovulating.

Any spotting between periods should be checked out medically to establish the cause. It is often not serious but it should be mentioned to the GP.

I would also suggest that you have a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are like, particularly with regards to LH and FSH. It may now also be worth enquiring about being referred to a gynae.

you must go and see your GP with spotting inbetween periods especially if you have pcos. you need to see a gynae - most likely if you have fairly regular periods its nothing much but could be progesterone levels - mind you not much you can do about that if you are TTC as it acts as a contraceptive if taken permanently!

Are you sure you don;t have an erosion? Your GP will be able to tell easily.

thanks guys. I do have other symptoms of PCOS i.e. excessive hair in unwanted places and difficulty keeping my weight down. I am currently overweight and heavier than I was when I conceived my DS. I am quite down because I just know conceiving is not going to be as easy this time (although I really do appreciate that I am lucky to have my DS). I have an appointment with my GP on Monday next week, so will mention it then. I HATE PCOS
