IUI success stories?

i have been trying to conceive my second for almost 2 years; I’ve just started letrozole and have 5 months left of it until I have to self fund any further treatment. The opportunity has come up to take part in a clinical trial comparing the success of IUI and IVF. If I went forward I would be randomly allocated either 1 cycle of IVF or 3 cycles of IUI and if not successful, 1 following round of IVF. I would have to fund the IVF in advance but if the 3 cycles of IUI were successful I’d get my ivf money back. I always said I wouldn’t do IVF just as it’s my second and it could be costly and stressful. But I’m tempted by this trial as I could get free IUI. However, I’m not sure how successful IUI actually is…any success stories? Thanks ☺️

After trying to concieve naturally for 4 years, had my tubes checked etc, I then did 6 months of clomid. All without success.
I was told I was entitled to 2 rounds of IUI, plus one round of IVF on the NHS. I got pregnant with the first round of IUI.
I then funded IUI for dc2 and had 6 rounds before I concieved (over 9 months).

That’s really useful thank you! I am leaning more and more towards trying IUI given it’s going to be free, I think I might give letrozole one more month on a higher dose but if it doesn’t work sign upto the trial

Many years ago I was offered three free cycles of Clomid/IUI. On the third and final cycle and after several ultrasounds to check the size of follicles etc, the embryologist booked leave and so was not available to screen the sperm. I was told I was likely to ovulate over the next few days so to have sex as much as possible. I was very fortunate to conceive and luckily went on to have a live birth.

I'd definitely try IUI if it was free. Good luck.
