I'd be so grateful if someone could have a look at this cheapo HPT and tell me if they can see a line? Test was read at 2 minutes

Ok I'm not going mad. My husband is at work and I have nobody else to share with.

I'm 45, 2 almost grown up teens, I have a mirena and have been on oestrogel HRT for the past 4 months because of peri menopausal symptoms. My periods have always been regular despite the mirena (which I've had for a total of 14 years, 2 changes in that time). I've missed my last 2 periods so was going to go to the GP but thought they'd ask if I'd tested just in case so took a test today.

I then panicked, drank loads of water and the next 3 tests have been negative. I'm not sure how I feel. Chat GPT tells me pregnancy is very unlikely and not to panic.

I feel my husband will be over the moon as he always wanted 3 children whereas I only wanted 2.

Hmmmm… if you had missed 2 periods due to pregnancy I’d say it’d be a pretty strong line. The doctor will test you again anyway.

Go out and buy a good test. Then wait a good few hours and test again. Try not to panic

There’s a lot of dye run on that test. That’s where the test gets over saturated and dye from the control line runs along the strip and can collect in the test line. When this happens it’s not a real positive. In order to be sure I’d test again with a different type of test and dip it in a pot of urine rather than pee on it. Ideally get a digital that spells it out in words.

I’d call it invalid as there’s dye run and even the control line is a bit battered. Id do another, but obviously there is a second line there so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on the replacement test too

Oh I missed that the next 3 are negative. I’d say given that you are 45 and on contraception, you’ve had 3 negative tests and one damaged/dye run test… I’d think it’s really unlikely to be positive. But absolutely do a decent test to be sure.
