When do you ovulate?

I’m tracking my ovulation as ttc2, my periods are getting a bit more regular now as I’m breastfeeding less and 16 months pp. I’m trying to work out when I used to ovulate before I had my first to compare.
how many days after your period is usual to ovulate? According to my app I’m due to ovulate on the 28th this month which would be 26 days after the first day of my last period. Does this see normal or am I ovulating a lot later than the normal cycle? Thanks for any replies 😊

How long is your cycle?
What app are you using? Are you using OPKs?

germanshepforever · 19/02/2026 18:19

@BudgetBusterhey, my cycles are around 38 days which I think is on the long side, I’m using Premom and I test using opks

Varies woman to woman and sometimes cycle to cycle. When I was tracking (for about 4 years) I ovulated as early as day 13 and as late as day 18, my cycle was always 27-28 days overall but my ovulation changed

My cycle has changed slightly 31-32 days I would ovulate on day 17 on average
Last 6 months I’ve gone back to 29 days and ovulate day 15

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/02/2026 18:45

Cycle was 28 days / every 4th Fri and I ovulated on day 18

Yes, your cycle is probably longer than average but that's not an issue in itself. I have a 28-30 day cycle and always get my surge in day 15 or 16. I tracked using the premium app too - it's quite good.

You can get a surge / peak at anytime really, lots of people are different. I would start tracking from probably day 10 and keep tracking right up to your period. After 2/3 months it should be clear enough when you are ovulating.

Best of luck! I didn't get my period back until 17 months after no1 due to breastfeeding. I had 2 cycles and now I'm 23 weeks pregnant again. The drop in breastfeeding really does the trick... both for ovulation and also for an increased libido 😂
