TTC after TFMR

It’s been 10 weeks today since I gave birth to our second, at 18+5 following tfmr.

Ive been told to wait another month before TTC again and last week I had what I believe to be my period. I’ve started to track ovulation and currently cycle day 9.

I used to ovulate around cycle day 16/17 before conceiving my first but know things can be different after birth. To add, my period last week was the first one Ive had since July 2023 - when I conceived my first. I breastfed and got pregnant in Aug 2025 before having a period.

I’m posting in hope that it’ll help me to document things, share how I’m feeling and track ovulation as I don’t believe (we’ll know) if I’ve ovulated since my second birth.

If anyone else is in a similar boat or wants to share how they’re feeling, please feel free to join me. I feel like it can seem quite lonely when TTC.

Test seems to be further away from ovulation 🙃

Are you doing temperatures OP? I found that much more reliable.

Ah thanks for replying @LadyBrendaLast! I’m not no. So I was told before that taking temp would only be accurate if you sleep through the night?
my toddler is awake at least twice still, so I’m only getting 4hrs sleep stretches at a time (if lucky).
so not tracking temp at the moment x

I'm so sorry for your loss. My 1st pregnancy after 4yrs TTC ended in TFMR. We TTC another 12mths before getting pregnant again.

I ovulate but never got on with urine OPK's and bought a re-usable saliva one abroad. None of my British friends have heard of them! You can buy them online and I found it much easier to read than the urine ones. It also worked out far cheaper after 12yrs TTC in total. Wishing you all the best x

I’ve never heard of a saliva test and so curious to know more so will have a look online.

I guess I’m just posting on here to sound out my thoughts and feelings, like a diary I suppose. Not sure if this is even the right way to go about it but thought by sharing on here, others may jump in and share their experiences or what they used to help track ovulation.

I logged periods/ovulation on the Ovia app. I've heard of Flo but never used that one.
