TTC baby number 4!

Hello, just looking for some advice and I guess, somewhere to offload!

Me and DH are currently trying to conceive baby number 4, but, I haven't had a period since August 2025.

February 3rd - February 7th 2026, I noticed spotting when I wiped. Pinky, very light, then some very pale orangey, and also some tinged in clear cervical fluid.

One app suggested this was my fertile period..

Another suggested it was my period.

February 5th I started using clear blue digital ovulation tests and on the 5th - empty circle
On 6th I got a 'Still smiley' so, DTD.

Had full, heavy feelings in right side ovary (my dominant ovary) then and since then, but tracking LH with premom tests, all showing 'low' (Highest 0.42)

Cervical mucus now 'thin, lotiony, but I'd class as drying fast or, on the drier side ' on 16th February.

I've been wanting to implement the shettles method but, obviously without having had a period of a structure to my cycle, I'm struggling.

So, feeling a little depleted with attempts.

Anyone else had these struggles with not knowing if or when you'll have a period or ovulate?

I feel like I'm wasting my time.

I got my positive test yesterday. Works out I’m just over 4 weeks pregnant 🥺

I had awful period symptoms a few days before my period was due. A bit of brown discharge. I really thought I was going to come on my period! Then on the day. It didn’t arrive! Got a £3.50 test from Sainsbury’s and there was a very faint line. I thought it was an indent… day after a clear blue said I was pregnant! Feeling very anxious as it’s my third. But my son is 7 and my daughter is nearly 4 so shouldn’t be too bad 😆we’ll see! Wishing you all luck xxx

Thank you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I home educate my three so, Easter break doesn't change the feeling of time dragging for me 😂 it's always a busy house hold. But we just bought a doer upper by the coast last year so currently passing time doing the house up and trying desperately not to obsess over testing (doesn't always help though!) I've spent a fortune on tests 😅😭

Oh wow I’ve been trying to think of things to stay busy I’m only on cd9 so haven’t even ovulated yet, yes tests are so expensive I’ve bought some off uber before was very expensive how old are your children? We haven’t told anyone we are trying over fear of judgement

We haven't told anyone we're trying either because of the same reason. We don't have any family or anything nearby so, part of me thinks it's none of their business anyway so, their opinions don't matter! But, also, no one wants to feel any judgement over bringing another child into their family and I feel some will have a comment or two to say...

Ours all turn 13, 6 and 2 this year.

After our youngest we said to family that we were done 😂 then my husband said about a year ago he'd like another and id always sort of thought about 4.. so, 😂 why not! I love the thought of having a big family, it's our prime adventure and family year's!

How old are yours?

Yeah exactly it’s the last thing you need my family can be quiet judgemental so thought it’s best to keep it to ourselves my partner isn’t the farther of my 3 children so it’ll be his first so his family will be really excited, mine are 10, 8 and 6 all born very close together in summer so would love a baby born in a different season

It makes sense that your partner would want one biologically too, and ofcourse you both wanting one together. It's a shame when you know there will be comments...

Our family can be a bit funny too so I've no doubt that there would be some discussions about us having a 4th when the time comes

Our eldest isn't biologically my husbands,
I had him when I was newly 19.. He'll be 13 in September, and been I've with my husband for 10 years now but even when I had my first baby with my husband, back in 2020, family told me 'No more now, two is enough' like they have any say in how many children we decide to have ?!

Always found it such a weird topic for anyone who's not raising the child, to have an opinion on 😂

@TTCbaby4i agree, I was also a young mum, I know it find it strange I think if you are in a position to have a baby then it’s no one else’s business, even though this baby will be very loved and wanted I highly doubt we’ll even get a congratulations from my side of the family. I know my partners side will believe the moon though there’s no boys from any of his siblings so I’m sure they’d all love a grandson/nephew it’s something we have thought very long about and it definitely wasn’t a light decision my opk has slightly rises today but no by much really hoping to get a peak soon how may dpo are you? I get to tempted to test but I’ve fount in all my previous pregnancies I have high levels of hcg

I think I'm out this cycle 👎🏼 I'm about 11/12dpo today but tested negative.

Period prediction is in a couple of days but, I have irregular periods so, may or may not come..

Sigh.

On to the next cycle I guess! 🫠

How long until you're in your fertile period?

oh sorry to hear that it’s always a bummer when you get a negative I got a positive ovulation test yesterday but I’m not really feeling it this cycle something just feels off let pray for next month x

I'm just entering my fertile period, I had a flashing smiley on my OPK today, so will be checking more regularly with my Cheapie OPKs and the clear blue OPKs, until I see the peak in LH.

Are you testing when you see missed period or will you check around 10/11dpo? X

Yay i feel like it feels forever from AF until FW i actually meant to put i don’t think this is my month, i checked today at 10dpo BFN not feeling very hopeful ive tried those clear blue tests in the past not sure how i feel about them to be honest i had that machine but i stopped using it as i wasn’t a fan x

Oh you don't get on with the clear blue OPKs?
They've been great for me in the past, I'm fully stocked haha, I use those and the cheapie premom LH strips, and track using those to align with the rising estrogen with the clear.blue flashing smileys and cervical mucus and then the static smiley for Peak against the darkness of the premom LH Cheapie.

Hey, nope still BFN i haven’t tested since Saturday, how are you getting on? Have you hit peak? I really to hate the ttw especially for it to end up being a failed month but onto to next month, hopefully this is our month 🤞🏼

Not yet, I usually build up to it slowly as I have PCOS. My cycles have been irregular for so long, I've had a few anovulatory cycles before now

I’m using a few tracking apps at the moment,
one is predicting ovulation around the 25th, while another is suggesting closer to the 29th.

In my last two cycles, though, I’ve had to adjust their predictions myself based on my BBT and OPK results.

This cycle, I do feel like ovulation may happen a bit later, more in line with those predictions and I have a strangely optimistic feeling about it.

Right now, my body doesn’t seem to be fully gearing up, more a start and stop 🫠 usually, as ovulation approaches, I notice a stronger sense of heaviness around my right ovary, but at the moment it’s only very mild and on-and-off,

I'd probably pin it in-between the app predictions around the 27th. Which would be around CD21!

Sigh.

How many DPO are you now? Period due? Any desire to test or do you think it's out completely this month?

I swear the TWW is a special kind of psychological endurance test.

Every month I swear I’m going to stay busy and absolutely not spiral…

I also promise myself that I won’t test like a maniac, then proceed to Google literally every thought, and twinge, from 1dpo even though level headed me knows there's no symptoms.

Hey sorry I’ve been a bit mia we had a weekend away to Spain so was just putting ttc to the back of my mind i ended up coming on my period but im about to ovulate as i had a positive ovulation test today how are you getting on atm are you currently in the ttw? How are you feeling for this cycle x

Oh, lovely! I hope you've had a lovely holiday and a break in the thought process!
Sometimes it's needed.

I'm feeling optimistic actually, mine has been a bit all over this cycle and ovulation has been late! Currently expecting it now or tomorrow as I've had blazing ovulation tests all day today and very dark yesterday.

So, ovulation being late and landing around Beltane, given it's traditionally linked to fertility, feels quite meaningful this particular cycle!

I guess we'll be in the tww together 🌸🤞🏻
