help!!!

hi aLL, currently CD56, had a 65 day cycle last cycle, but had coil out 31st march so attributed irregularity to coil(both before coil out And after, was non hormonal coil)...currently ttc so cld be pg, not gonna test till cd 63 at earliest but here is my dilemma...

if i am not,where do i stand wrt getting tests help? how do i go about getting on clomid? or is that even the right drug? im pretty sure im ov'ing, as im having ahem discharges, and proper periods,so that would indicate i am oving?? is there something i can take to make them more regular?? and do i need to have been trying for xyz amount of time before i can get on it? can any one help me please!! x

Would not test at all in such circumstances as cycles persistanly over 35 days in length are more often than not anovulatory in nature.

The surest way of knowing whether you have ovulated or not is to have a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are like. Your GP may be willing to do a blood test for you.

"Signs" can be misleading and it is quite possible to have periods without actually ovulating.

If your periods were irregular prior to having the coil fitted they may well revert back to being irregular again. If this scenario applies to you it is better to seek advice from your GP sooner rather than later.

Clomid should not be given unless there is definitive proof that ovulation is not happening. It should ideally also be given under a gynae's supervision as it is quite powerful stuff. Also monitoring (blood tests and ultrasounds) should be done whilst on this drug treatment.

Generally speaking referrals to gynae's don't usually happen until the couple have been ttc for a year without success (if under 35) and for 6 months if over 35.

You need a diagnosis first and foremost if there is an underlying problem. Focus on that primarily. You will also need to be persistant in order to get answers.

It would be worth discussing it with your doctor. I did after 6 months of TTC, I am sure someone on here can give you some useful advice in the meantime, which may or may not help. I have been TTC for 13months now with an irregular cycle. Depending on lots of factors you may be able to be referred on from your doctor. I was referred at 6months and have a second app. now, after a year. i think a year is the usual, but i expressed a concern about my age in the initial meeting - didn't want to wait too long, as my mother's family have a history of early menopause.
