Can I delay my ovulation?

Hi,
has anyone successfully managed to delay their ovulation due to their partner not being around at the time of predicted ovulation? If so please tell me how. I’ve read that you can use morning after pill etc but I just don’t know if it will mess the cycle completely. I need to delay it for 7-10 days ideally

No, you can’t.

Ovulation is controlled by the hormones FSH & LH and the routine your body goes through for each cycle. To delay ovulation you would have to interrupt the natural flow of those hormones and anything strong enough to do that, like the morning after pill, will also prevent pregnancy that cycle.

I’ve only done it as part of IVF - you take certain drugs to prevent the LH/FSH surge which comes before ovulation - I don’t think there is a natural way of doing it
