How soon can the sickness start?

Just wondering how quickly people felt nauseous after ov? Pg sites say it's usually 3-4 weeks but I am 8 dpo and have felt so queasy since yesterday, particularly halfway through eating and then for a couple of hours afterwards.

Not that I am manically symptom spotting during my 2ww (honest) but I didn't have any sickness with my 1st so wouldn't know if this is possible/to be expected?

just after 6 weeks preg all 3 times

monkeybumsmum · 15/06/2008 17:30

First pregnancy at about 5 weeks, but 2nd time I had v bad indigestion and was wanting to retch at things from about 11/12 dpo.

Presume you are ttc? If so then good luck, I have my fingers crossed! Will you let us know if you are or not?

Diege · 15/06/2008 17:44

I'm also wondering about this myself, just waiting for the sickness to hit. With all 3 dds sickness hit (Hyperemesis/drip/drugs with 2 out of 3) at 4.5 weeks. I'm 5 weeks with no.4 and just just waiting for it to hit. Wondering if it's possible to avoid sickness after having it so badly last time(s), or just wishful thinking!
From reading others' accounts on here, I think some get nausea a few days after conception, but that 6 weeks is about average?

Tapster · 15/06/2008 18:10

A few days after conception for me, however eating always made me feel better, and I tend to get it when I hadn't eaten for a while.

sorkycake · 15/06/2008 20:17

I'm waiting for next week, when like Diege, I'll be 6 weeks.

Diege I think you're having a boy btw, same as me.

spottyshoes · 15/06/2008 20:54

Ahh so it is possible then tapster!

Yes I'm ttc, had a m/c in April so have my fingers very tightly crossed. I have just found a similar thread and someone on it said it could be a sign on twins!!! Yikes!
But I guess i'm getting a bit carried away.....will settle for a bfp in a few days first

Thanks for your replies

I normally get very sick around 6 weeks, has been the same with them all (6 of them) but this one i am not so sure.

I took a test because i felt sick, no other symptoms. I came up positive straight away and was possibly only 13 days post conception. Of course i may have been 6 weeks and had an odd period so my date are wrong. Scan soon will let you know!

spottyshoes · 15/06/2008 21:03

Oh yes do, and let us know if it twins

Ooh Sorky so no sickness yet for you?? Did you have sickness by now with your other boy(s)?? Would be very (but pleased) to have a boy as just assumed another girl, but all of my symptoms are just so different!!! LOL, bet we both wake up tomorrow with heads down toilets .
Looking forward to finding where you're up to LG&T

largeginandtonic · 15/06/2008 21:21

It is NOT twins you feckers...

It is 1 tiny baby, angelic and with a small head. I will breathe it out at home surrounded by candles.

sorkycake · 15/06/2008 21:28

pmsl, when is the scan LG&T?

I feel very light headed today and I have a feeling the sickness is around the corner this week.

If it's a boy I expect to be queasy but not vomit so much, if it's a girl I fully expect to have no stomach lining and be attached to a drip.

monkeybumsmum · 15/06/2008 21:29

Spottyshoes - when are you going to test? Hope you get a BFP

Diege · 15/06/2008 21:32

LOL LG&T . We'll keep our fingers crossed then...
Sorky, I have known nothing but drips and stemitol, so queasy would be a dream . We must come back to this thread next Sunday and see how we're holding up..
Spotty, when do you test???

Diege · 15/06/2008 21:32

x-post Monkey!

sorkycake · 15/06/2008 21:34

fingers crossed for you spottyshoes

spottyshoes · 15/06/2008 21:51

LG&T

I'm testing tuesday wednesday thursday friday Saturday

Lets hope all the queasiness/sickness stays away for everyone and we all have good news to post next Sunday!

You never know, some might be having a 'double' celebration by then

Ha bloody HA!

I am not telling when the scan is i cant take the pressure, i am choosing to maintain an air of denial calm until the very last moment

I'm watching you lot, it is i who will be PMSL when you all rock up here with twins\triplets on your scan pics

EffiePerine · 16/06/2008 08:18

more or less straight away with this pg, though generally less severe than with DS.

EffiePerine · 16/06/2008 08:20

and my scan is tomorrow - no talk of twins please

EffiePerine · 16/06/2008 08:21

(and I tested cos I felt sick, even though I thought it was unlikely)

sorkycake · 16/06/2008 08:55

LG&T do twins run in you family or is it that the risk of twins increase with more pregnancies?

Spotty how do you feel today?

largeginandtonic · 16/06/2008 09:28

The twins were triplets Sorky, i lost one of them at 15wks. Although the twins are identical (so is freak of nature, not genetically linked) i have no idea if the 3rd baby was fraternal. Hence the worry.

Effie No teasing just

sorkycake · 16/06/2008 09:32

TRIPLETS!!

effie

colander · 16/06/2008 09:41

Felt nauseous almost straight away with both, but didn't start the projectile vomit horror-fest until 11 weeks and 8 weeks. Lasted until 16 weeks and 13 weeks respectively.

Best wishes.

Tapster · 16/06/2008 15:19

Not only did I feel sick early but I showed very early, the first thing I said when I saw the 12 week scan was "thank god there is only one"! However, I did give birth to a 9lb 1oz girl, and I was a size 8 and 5ft. Breathing it out wasn't an option.
