Period 4 days late

My period is 4 days late. My cycles are extremely regular. In the past year the most I’ve varied is 1 day either way. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it’s negative. I don’t want to be pregnant (we have two kids and I think we’re done). We had sex using a condom during my fertile window and once without protection but only 7 days ago, 3 days before I was due on my period, so surely way too late.

If I’m taking a negative test 4 days after my period was due (18DPO) then it’s very, very unlikely I’m pregnant right? The two times that I’ve been pregnant I tested positive at 8DPO.

Why else could my period be late? Very confused.

How certain is your ovulation date? Have you been ill this cycle or stressed? I had a sickness bug that seemed to extend my luteal phase last month.

I've now got bloody COVID and I bet that delays my ovulation, so it could be something similar with so many bugs going around.

I think you are in the clear, unless you ovulated later than you think and got very unlucky.

I had a period that was late last year, it arrived cd42 - just an odd month. It’s not uncommon to have a cycle which is off. You may have also ovulated later than you think like pp suggested. If you’re having negative tests I would think you’re not pregnant.

Thank you both. Ovulation date not certain other than I literally ovulate at the same time every month, always have for my whole adult life! So weird! No illness, definitely stressed but I’m always stressed haha, I have two young children and a busy job. I can’t see how I could be pregnant, fingers crossed.
