I know it can take up to a year but I'm fed up of waiting. Anyone else? What do you do to make it bearable? Have you bought any baby things? Bought clothes? What are you looking forward to? Any tips?

Hey @SallySummerPop I’m in my 5/6th month. Had a chemical November which messed my cycles up but yeah, I didn’t think we’d be rung for this long

Hi! Will this be your first? I’m currently TTC baby no.2 and am on month 10 :/
first time around it took me 10 months, I was at the point of almost having a breakdown over it not happening! The months I fell pregnant I had tried acupuncture and reflexology for fertility, I don’t know if that was the ‘answer’ but maybe it helped somehow

@Bubs94 I'm sorry to hear that! Hoping it will happen for us soon!

@Riverofhope Yes, this will be my first. I know it can take up to a year but people around me seem to have got pregnant right away and I don't know when to start checks. Perhaps something with relaxation then - I'm an anxious person naturally and so I have been working on relaxation. We've had a bit of winter sun/holiday this month and so I'm hoping that may have helped somewhat. Best of luck to you!

I do think stress can play a part. Depending on your age I think your GP will refer you for some tests if you ask for them after a year if under 40. I was also taking Pregnacare conception tablets, folic acid and doing ovulation tests x

SallySummerPop · 08/02/2026 20:40

I've done the ovulation tests but the past two months I didn't bother and went with two or three days apart attempts, i think the ovulation constant testing got me stressed. I'm taking pregnacare the before conception ones and have folic acid but didn't think to take them on top as assumed they'd be in the multivitamin, do you take both? Thinking about it perhaps I will get some ovulation tests because I got a cold in January and my period was delayed by almost two weeks (no positives) so I must have had delayed ovulation or no ovulation or who knows

We are 8 months in to TTC #3. Took 12 months for our first (although that was from coming off the pill so probably took a while for things getting back to normal). Our second only took 2 months so losing hope a bit this time.
