2 chemical pregnancies

Hi all, I’m currently going through my 2nd chemical pregnancy and am starting to worry something is wrong with me. I feel so sad that I get a positive but then will start bleeding at around 5 weeks. I have a 5 year old who I had no trouble conceiving but I’m now 34 so could that have something to do with it? I have noticed in the last couple of years my cycles have become shorter. Has anyone gone on to have a successful pregnancy after 2 chemicals, if so did you do anything different? Also wondering if anyone can recommend any vitamins myself and my partner should take. Thank you x

Yes I have always conceived very easily but also had quite a few chemicals/very early losses. I definitely had two in a row immediately before conceiving my first child, as that was quite memorable. I had several in the space of a few months when we were trying for our third, but I was pretty old by then (41) so I didn't find it that surprising and actually thought it was quite a good sign that I was conceiving at all. I think it's good to remember that in the past women might have suspected but they wouldn't have known for sure about early losses and it is normal for quite a high proportion of fertilised eggs either not to implant or to start implanting and then fail pretty quickly. When my Mum had her first children the doctor wouldn't see you to confirm until you'd missed a second period! Maybe sometimes it's better not to know but I do appreciate it's very hard not to test.

I’ve also had two (November and January) and the doctor did a blood test and confirmed I’m anaemic. Hoping ferrous sulphate will make things more sticky this month. See if your doctors will do a blood test. If you get to three (and hopefully you don’t), they’ll refer to a pregnancy loss clinic x
