Short luteal phase

We're trying to conceive and my cycles are around 28 in length but I'm ovulating on day 20 (confirmed with LH testing and BBT).

Has anyone had experience of this?

Are you breastfeeding? I had to stop and wait a few months in order to have a luteal phase long enough to sustain a pregnancy

How long is a healthy luteal phase?

Normally at least ten days. Otherwise the body doesn't have time to know it is pregnant and so sheds the womb lining along with a potentially fertilised egg.

Oh okay! That’s good to know. Mine are 12 days according to my Premom app so that’s okay! @Swaytheboat

Yeah, my OBGYN said 10 days is adequate but a bit longer is ideal

There's some evidence that vitamin C increases the length of the luteal phase. Might be worth researching? Best of luck x

I've heard this about Vitamin B6.

I had two really short lutal phases ( one 8 days and one only 6!!) before conceiving on my 3rd cycle. Im 99% certain I had implantation cramps on day 7 as I remember being down thinking it was AF coming. Got BFP on 9dpo. I had started taking a vitamin b complex (with b6) but its hard to tell if this helped or was just an early implanter. From what I researched a short lutal phase doesnt always stop you from conceiving as eggs implant from 6-12 days dpo so an early implant will lead to a healthy pregnancy like it did for me 😊 fingers crossed for you 😄
