HPV CIN1 and conceiving

Evening ladies, just a quick one. I have HPV, had my yearly smear (was positive Feb 2025 so had another couple of weeks ago) it’s come back the same but with abnormal cells so will be going for a colposcopy in the next 4 weeks. I’m assuming I’m going to have to hold off conceiving until after the procedure. My ovulation is due next week so should I just avoid ttc until after I have had the appointment? I’m not worried about the hpv and abnormal cells but worried I’m going to have to skip this month. Has anyone got any advice? Thank you☺️

Yes you'll need to wait as pregnancy can alter the look of the cells too, and you definitely don't want them to remove more cells than is necessary if they have to do that.

I wouldn't get pregnant until this is resolved. You want as healthy and stress free a pregnancy as possible.

I had CIN3. I had A 7mm depth of excision in order to get clear margins. I went on to have two full term pregnancies. Although, I did have regular cervical length scans and I took progesterone pessaries until 36 weeks.

That’s really great to hear about having full term successful pregnancies.
I have low grade CIN1. I have colitis and am currently be treated with steroids for my flare I’ve been in for almost a year now so I knew my immune system wouldn’t have cleared it itself. I did google and it did say it’s safe to have to colposcopy done in the first and second trimester and if any biopsies need taking they do then after birth. But yes, maybe I will wait until after my appointment
