Hi,

Ive had two consecutive miscarriages at 5 weeks. I’m a bit of a test a holic following a miscarriage a few years ago at a similar time. I’ve just tested positive on a frer and an easy at home (was vvv faint on easy at home) and I’m suddenly really scared. Twins run in my family on both maternal and paternal side (although far removed on maternal side). My grandma on dad’s side is a twin. Is this a sign of two or too early to tell? I’m going to try my best to hold off from testing now til 12dpo.

Loads of people get positive tests at 9dpo. It’s not that unusual. So that alone definitely wouldn’t be an indicator of twins.

Also was your grandma identical or non identical? Only non identical twins are considered to be hereditary. Identical twins are considered a random event.
