Im already blessed to be a mum but have felt id love one last crack. I went in open minded thinking relax and see but 3 years have passed and not even conceived. There are quite a few months where it would have been quite unlikely but its still far longer than the 9 months or so it took before. I am aware its harder when older I still have clockwork periods but mid 40s. Am I best just thinking it won't happen now? I had my last at 40.

I’m in the same situation. Had my son at 38 and started trying for second at 40. I’ve had 1 early miscarriage but otherwise nothing. Even with using OPK and timing it right. I think it’s just like a lottery now might get a good egg but more likely not. It’s pretty heartbreaking honestly but I’m not sure I can just give up trying/hoping

Its tough isn't it. You are 4 years behind me im sure you will have lots more chances. I went in to this trying to be really chill and seeing what occurred but if it doesn't happen I wish I knew now so avoid the tinge of hope.

Oh sorry I meant to say I am 43 and been trying for 3 years….!

I had no luck over 40. Two early mcs then nothing. Might be wise to work on accepting the blessing of what you have 💐

Oh you too. Let's hope 3rd (year) lucky for both of us. I feel so confused as info is so contradictory out there and who you talk to.

I am also 40 and trying. Though I have to do ivf. My last child who is now 2 was an embryo from our 2021 ivf cycle. I had one embryo left after her from that cycle. We transferred that in november of 2024 and unfortunately ended in a chemical. So we went on to do 2 more rounds of ivf last year and got 2 embryos from one of those rounds and unfortunately our second embryo ended as a MC at 7 weeks. We ummed and ahhed about going again and after xmas decided we would try again. I am pretty much in the thick of perimenopaus, iv gained weight, I have low amh, I dont have the best egg quality, my husband has a low sperm count, so I honestly cant say how successful we will be lol but im going to go down with a fight . I said id do 2 more rounds and reassess.
