Hi, I am 41 and am now being investigated for onset of menopause - am devastated and scared.
In the last 10 years I have had one ectopic pregnancy and 4 missed-miscarriges. After 3 missed-miscarriages where everything had stopped growing at 7 or 8 weeks - the NHS finally investigated me and said I have a condition called transient thrombophilia which means my blood gets thick during pregnancy and causes the plancenta to fail. NHS would no longer treat me for fertility as I was no 40. I went off to see a private fertility specialist who also did my 3rd ERPC. Once I has recovered he put me on Clomid - to speed up my conception chances. I became pregnant after the 3rd round of Clomid and he prescribed heparin injections and cyclogest pessaries. At my 10 week scan there was a very healthy placenta but no baby. He said it was a dud egg and had never formed into a baby - he said at my age this was a 1 in 4 chance with my quality of eggs. But he said he was pleased with the healthy placenta though. He put me back on Clomid once I had recovered from my 4th ERPC. I took it for 5 months 100mg per day - and 3 cycles ago my period only lasted a day, then the following cycle just a couple of hours and since then no ovulation showing on Clearblue sticks and no AF. My doctor said I might have started menopause and need to get my FSH tested when I get my next AF - but who knows when that will be, if ever.
A lovely new friend has suggested Evening Primose to help sort out any hormone imbalance that may have been caused by the excessive Clomid.
I am fighting off depression but not sure I am winning. Have any of you had any similar experiences? Have any of you had any success.
Sorry there is so much above to read - 10 years is a lot to condense here.
Any help, advice, support - welcome.
