Thank you. That’s been really helpful. A lot of things I have heard says it may be due to low progesterone and some people have got progesterone support so it’s nice to hear you managed without as I cannot get anyone to prescribe to me.

How old are you and how long ttc? I was aged 34 when I conceived and took me 16 months total.

I am about to turn 34. We have only just started ttc but I’ve read a lot about luteal phase defect and the need for progesterone supplements. I have a 11 day luteal phase and spotting 5-7 days before my period every month and it’s been like that for years. I fell pregnant once a year ago ( we just had sex once ) but this was a chemical pregnancy. I started to worry that this spotting might be the reason for why. We didn’t try again until now after that as we decided to get married and wait until after the wedding to start trying .

Yes I did and still spotted month I fell pregnant but proper period didn't start which made me take a test. Must have been implantation bleeding.

Yes i had exactly the same

Spotting settled during perimenopause funnily enough.

I'm sure you will be fine. Is a good sign you fell pregnant before. It can be normal to take 6-12 months to conceive.
Wish you best of luck.

Hello! So you had the same but fell pregnant naturally?

Wow amazing! And can I ask did you have any issues conceiving ?

No, we never had any issues conceiving. I had spotting and sometimes bleeding throughout the pregnancy but scans showed no issues. They thought the spotting / bleeding was due to a cervical erosion.

I had a procedure done to sort the erosion out (I forget what it was called) but it didn't work. With the advent of perimenopause and hormonal upheaval my pre menstrual spotting has gone.

Huge congrats on your pregnancy! Can I ask how long it took you to conceive your successful pregnancy and if you had spotting before a positive pregnancy test and if so did the spotting stop eventually? ☺️.

Thank you! It took another 4 months after the chemical to fall pregnant and since being pregnant I've had no bleeding or spotting which was a relief. (I'm 34)
