ICSI - Egg Collection Results & Transfer

Hey everyone;

I had my first egg collection yesterday with 15 eggs collected.

I had to ring at 10am this morning to see how they done & 11 eggs where injected. 3 of them fertilised.

1 of the 3 then failed and now only have 2 eggs fertilised and they have decided to go with transfer on Sunday so a 3 day transfer.

I'm feeling so disheartened at this as she said she doesnt understand why so few made it as they where all healthy and mature and its well below than what they would have liked.

I am only planning in transferring 1 on sunday.

I didnt get much information other than that. But I have messaged into my online portal asking will I be updated tomorrow again to make sure both are still doing good and what grades theyre at etc.

Just feeling so upset and feeling really negative now so if anyone has had any success in a similar situation or any words of wisdom please let me know.

Thank you.

Sorry about that. Also did ICSI

We had a similar thing 3 fertilised but 1 didn’t make it so we’re left with 2

they transferred 1 which is now wriggling around inside me, and the second one is on ice xx

@RenisenbThank you so much for your reply! Congratulations!! ❤️
The Embroylogist rang me back this evening and told me to ring in the morning to I can check in and she can give me an update on them and what grade they will be.

Depending on the grade / quality were now considering transferring the two.

Ideally i would like two great grades so that one can be frozen also.

Thank you! Hopefully that’s reassuring it can have a good outcome. It wasn’t the perfect grade maybe 1 down from that (it’s funny but I’ve completely forgotten what it was after it was so important at the time!)

hope you get the best outcome xx

Renisenb · 18/01/2026 15:06

Did you have your transfer today? How did it go?

Nmmck93 · 19/01/2026 11:46

@Renisenbsorry lovely ive bee so tired these last few days.

Yeah transfer yesterday, one embryo was top quality with 8 cells so they transferr3d that one. The most uncomfortable part was the full bladder during it and had a bit discomfort when he used the speculum but was over quick.

My other embryo is a little behind with only 6 cells so they're keeping an eye and then want me to ring on tuesday to see if it made it so we can freeze.

Im really constipated from thursday and im blaming the progesterone pessaries so going to try have lots of decaf tea today to have sone movement because I believe thats why my stomach is causing me pains.

Test day is 1st of Feb so we're officially pregnant until proved otherwise. Lol.

Renisenb · 19/01/2026 15:37

Oh my goodness the full bladder seriously so difficult!!
I literally RAN to the bathroom after

congrats. Our other embryo was also behind but was good quality the following day so was frozen.

update on the 1st all the best

I had NO symptoms until well after testing if that reassures you. I was sure this meant it hadn’t worked

Nmmck93 · 19/01/2026 16:03

Did you do anything after transfer? Like any old wives tales etc.

I got mcdonalds fries, bought a pineapple a d chopped it up and have been snacking on that and drinking decaf tea and water only so far lol.

Thank you, ill deffs update on the 1st.

Whats hard is knowing its just unexplained infertility and we're all fine. So im hoping this little embaby sticks sticks sticks xx

The nurse said go for a short walk
and I used a hot water bottle on the womb area any time I was home
I went back to work the next day though.

Nmmck93 · 19/01/2026 17:31

@Renisenboh I read online that hot water bottle can overheat the womb area, but clearly not as you've had a successful transfer. I love my hot water bottle, helped me through the injection side effects. Ive took time off work due to the stress I was under just before I started my injections. Work advised to take off to give me a better chance of this working so i need to try keep my head busy because I have to fight the urge to test early before the 1st lol.

Hmm interesting I didn’t have it too hot just nicely warm and through my clothes had no idea it could cause issues.
all the best for the 1st! Xx

ChocHotolate · 19/01/2026 21:24

I made an effort to watch comedy tv. I thought that if I laughed and released happy hormones it would probably help (in my mind).
Personally I think it was the low dose steroids that actually helped but the tv was a good distraction

Renisenb · 19/01/2026 21:41

Do you know what @ChocHotolateso did I I forgot about that

Nmmck93 · 21/01/2026 11:46

@Renisenbunfortunately my other embryo was progressing but slowly and they have made the decision today on Day 6 that its not suitable for freezing. Absolutely heartbroken. This one thats inside me now is our only chance.

Just curious, did you experience implantation bleeding? Im currently 3DP3DT and have zero symptoms.

OP posts:
ChocHotolate · 21/01/2026 12:57

What I did do was pregnancy test the whole way after implantation. Initially it will be positive because of the HCG injection and you know that already, then you watch that hormone leave your body and see if a new line develops. Cheap pregnancy tests obviously as you need about 14
Good luck, everything crossed for you x

Nmmck93 · 21/01/2026 13:47

@ChocHotolateI tested yesterday around lunch time but was negative.
Ill maybe start tomorrow morning and see. My OH doesnt want me to test until the date as he doesn't want it to have a negative effect on our anniversary weekend next week. We test the day we are due to come home.

Im just wondering about implantation bleeding whether it always makes an appearance or not because its something ill be looking out for.

OP posts:
Renisenb · 21/01/2026 17:06

Most actual studies say implantation bleeding isn’t real - ie it you can bleed in v early pregnancy but it’s not a sign of pregnancy.
in normal cycles you’re more likely to bleed if NOT pregnant than pregnant.

Now with IVF I don’t know whether bleeding is a sign or not as you’re very unlikely to get your actual period either way due to the progesterone.

I had a enough brown blood to cover about 3/4 of that middle bit of your pants the night before testing which would be 10 days after putting a 5 day back (my clinic wanted a test at 11days)

I was sure this meant failure (had done a sneaky test that morning that was negative)

Nmmck93 · 21/01/2026 17:56

@Renisenbthank you. It's just a killer waiting to see if its working. My clinic doesnt want a test until 14 days after the day 3.

I've been so emotionally drained all day today. So im gunna do some self care this evening and just try distract myself with some colouring or something after a nice shower and face mask.

Really tender breasts (around the nipple) today but that is most likely the progesterone causing that. As much as im egar for test day to show up asap im also excited to finally be done with the pessaries because they are a nuisance lol.

OP posts:
Renisenb · 21/01/2026 21:21

It is so draining I was glad of being at work etc. To forget.

I really think I had no symptoms so dw about that.

I guess 3+14 is similar to 5+11 really

on the test day I did 4 tests, 2 Sainsbury’s own and 2 clear and simple plastic from b and m (not the strips)
Im glad I did they were SO faint but seeing it on 4 helped me to believe Smile

Nmmck93 · 21/01/2026 22:01

@Renisenbaw my work is abit stressful atm and I just knew i wouldnt give myself the best chance if I was to go to work.

I have a few cheap strip tests but also 3 first response early response and a digital first response
