Faint positive at 9dpo, but line no darker at 10dpo

So I got a vvvv faint positive yesterday at 9dpo, so faint that I could barely see it. I tested again yesterday evening and the line was definitely a tiny bit darker. I was excited to test this morning, hoping that the line would be a good bit darker so I could tell my husband but it’s still so so faint, even fainter than my evening test last night.
I’m using the clear and simple early detection test that picks up hcg from 10ml, surely at 10dpo the line should be quite dark on an early detection test?
I then panicked and done a clear and simple digital but it said not pregnant.
Now I don’t know what to think, I don’t want to tell my husband until I know for sure. I know it’s still early so fingers crossed the lines get darker within the next few days. Has this happened anyone else?

Hi @El91, 9dpo is still very early to tell. Just last week I got a faint positive at 10dpo followed by a negative and followed by another negative the next morning at 11dpo, I then didn't test again until 2 days after my period was due and there it was. Also hcg doubles in 48 hours so leave it a day or two and rest again. I know it can be such a hard time as I cried with the second negative 🙈

No major symptoms, pretty much the same as you, the odd cramp or twinge here and there!

HCG only doubles every 48-72 hours in the first few weeks so I wouldn't expect a test 24hrs later to be any darker.

Also I wouldn't expect any symptoms at that stage either.
