Hi, I'm looking for a bit of support. I've been contributing to a lovely tww thread on the conception forum but thought I'd start another thread as I have concerns about myself.

I got a faint positive pregnancy test on an FRER on 23rd December. This was round about the time my period was due. I believe I ovulated some time between 7-10th December but could have been slightly later as my cycles have lengthened since having my 14mo.

From 24th December I bled for 3 days. I thought it was my period, but the colour of the blood was different - quite pink at times with no clots at all, some cramps but light. My periods are very heavy, needing super plus tampons every couple of hours usually for the first 2 days, but this was stop start bleeding that only needed a panty liner or at most a regular tampon which it didn't fill.

Bleeding has now stopped but I am getting the odd bit of pink and CM that is similar to fertile cm but thicker, it's stringy/stretchy.

I have a dull ache in my right side which goes into my hip. I don't feel like I need pain relief for it. I remember having this pain with my first and there were no issues with that pregnancy.

So my concern - pregnancy test today is no darker than a week ago, I have mild pregnancy symptoms- breast are bigger and on/off a bit tender, feel a bit queasy at times.

Does it sound like this has been a chemical? I know no one could possibly say, I suppose I am just feeling a bit alone with this, it is so different to my first pregnancy and I have a feeling it isn't going to be successful.

You can't self refer to epu where I live and I don't think I'd be able to see a GP until Friday, but not sure what they would do anyway.

Any advice? Wait it out, if I get pain go to the hospital? Any suggestions welcome, I feel very tired and anxious.

Thanks everyone

For some reason my picture of the test won't attach, I will try again later, it is faint and has a little pink in it and has looked the same for a week.

Difficult to advise without pic. But based on dates and info you've described - it does sound like a normal period, possibly a CP.

Outside of TTC most if not all CPs go un-noticed. The symptoms you describe are also consistent with period symptoms.

@Outside9 thank you for replying. This is the only photo I can get to work, from a few days ago, today's looks almost identical. I have a similar line on the easy at home HCG strips.

Really sorry it looks and sounds like a chemical to me

You can always double check with your GP in a weeks time if nothing has changed and you haven't had a propper period x

@Iamsaved1995 thank you for your reply I think I might do that x

I went to the hospital and they checked my bloods and confirmed a chemical. It’s a long wait in A&E but at least I knew

@Toomanyweekstogo sorry to hear about your chemical. Thank you for replying to me - do you mind me asking how long it took your tests to turn negative? My tests have started to fade since yesterday, they have been positive for 9 days, I'm wondering how long I will take for it to be negative and when I can expect my next period.

I tested positive on a clear blue on the Sunday and they got darker until the Wednesday and then by Friday they started to fade, on the Sunday I went to A&E and they confirmed my hormone levels had dropped to 2 and then I started bleeding on the Monday. Hopefully it’s not the case for you!

@Toomanyweekstogo I'm so sorry to hear it, waiting around in a+e too must have been rubbish. Thank you for sharing this with me, I've felt really alone, just waiting for the bleeding to start and at 6 weeks anyone I have told doesn't think it's a big deal. I'll let you know the outcome for me x

Definitely don’t feel alone. No one believed it was happening until I started bleeding, but I knew from the tests. It’s really horrible and I prey it’s not a chemical for you. That was November and I’ve now had a normal cycle. If you need to speak to anyone feel free to message me

Just noticed you have a 14mo, I have a 9mo and I do think that helps, as for me it’s kept me distracted and even more grateful for her
