Anyone never get a positive OPK?

Been testing since CD11 and it's now CD17. My cycles are usually around 25 days although occasionally they are 28/29 and shortest 24.

My OPKs haven't darkened at all this week and now I'm concerned I'm not ovulating at all.

Has anyone ever struggled getting a positive opk and still managed to conceive? I definitely had what I thought were ovulation signs around days 10-13 (lots of CM, increased sex drive, feeling 'glowy' whereas now I feel 'drier' down there and generally feel a bit more Meh and less sexual which I would normally take to mean O has been and gone however now I'm not so sure!)

Hi! I had a similar issue last months cycle, I was using the easy@home tests, I normally have a 29-31 day cycle, so don’t normally start testing until CD11, but for some reason I tested on CD8 and got super dark tests, we didn’t DTD around that time, but I continued to test and my tests just got lighter and then AF showed on CD 23 which was so unlikely for me, so my guess is I ovulated early which explained the dark tests on CD8, my peak was probably CD7, but I hadn’t tested to know.
I struggled a lot in general to find my highs/peak with the dye tests, so I switched to CB digital ovulation tests for Decembers cycle, I started testing from CD7 just in case I had another early ovulation, I got highs CD10 and 11 and then got my peak the evening of CD12.

Which tests are you using? And how often do you test a day? Some people really know how to find their highs and peaks but I just couldn’t grasp it, even though I was testing twice, sometimes 3 times a day, I made sure I held my urine for a long time and didn’t drink too much so it wasn’t diluted, but for months I just never found my peak until I switched to the clear blue one, I started thinking I wasn’t ovulating either and was really worried.

hopefully it might just be you missed your peak, as with having a shorter cycle, you might ovulate sooner than when you start testing.

sending you lots of luck and baby dust✨

Thank you @SunshineAndRainbow37 ! I am just using boots tests atm, testing twice a day but I've carried on drinking water (and wine this week!) As normal so maybe that's part of it.

I guess it's possible I had my peak on cd10 the day before I tested due to my other signs? And am having a shorter cycle this month. Going to order some of the even cheaper amazon ones for next cycle and will start as soon as my period finishes I think!!

@Awbiscuits it’s not as easy as it’s made out is it? I remember watching so many people’s videos of them doing their OPK’s and thought ah this will be a breeze! I was definitely wrong haha and I still don’t even get the BBT side of things either, so I just hope for the best after a peak, that I did in fact ovulate🤣

yeah I would maybe try testing earlier and see if that changes things, do you have an app that reads the dye ratios or do you go off of comparison of what the dye darkness is?

I never seem to catch mine on OPKs but I know I am ovulating becuase I also track BBT - just seem to have very bad luck with the strips!

If you have a 25 day cycle I'd start testing around day 8 - a normal luteal phase is 14 days, so you may be ovulating earlier than you're currently testing. It's definitely worth checking to see.

My surge is super fast. For example my peak this month was on the 2nd of jan (I was expecting it so I tested every time I peed)

at 11am when I woke up, it was negative, faint.

3pm it was super super strong positive, test line darker than the control.

6pm it was faint again.

literally would have missed it had I tested only twice a day
