Sooo I’ll try and keep it brief!

My most recent period was 4 days late and lasted 4 days, and 4 days after it ended (so cycle day 8) I started to get my usual ovulation symptoms - digestive issues, cramps, migraine, fatigue. Although at the time I didn’t even consider it was ovulation!
Hubby and I dtd on cycle days 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13.
On cycle day 14 however, I started spotting (something I’ve never actually had before) BUT because it was day 14 I assumed it was ovulation. The spotting continued for just over two days, was very light (didn’t need a pad) and everytime I wiped. It alternated between pink/red/very light brown.
On the third day of spotting I realised I hadn’t had my usual ovulation symptoms around the days I assumed I’d be ovulating. And that in fact I’d had all of my ovulation symptoms the week before. The only other symptom I have is that I had a very sharp twinge on Lower right side last night (cycle day 16) which lasted less than three seconds.

My next period is not due for another 13 days.

I suppose my question is: Has anybody experienced similar? Has my last period being late just messed up my cycle a little this month? Could I have had implantation bleeding?
I didn’t take ovulation tests so have no idea of an actual date, can only go by symptoms.

I’ve never had spotting other than when my period is due.

If anyone has any opinions at allll, I’d be most grateful!

It’s too early for anything embryo related unless your cycle is very early - but if anything it should be delayed due to last month - my guess if you’ve not had it before is that it’s due to all the DTD - assuming this is more than your normal pattern it can irritate things and cause spotting.

Did you do a test when your last period was late? And was it a regular period for you?
I’ve not personally experience ovulation spotting, but I know some people do tend to have light spotting when an egg is released, implantation spotting is usually around the time or a little bit before your period is due, I had it the day my period was due when I was pregnant with my DS. Did you mean was your last period potentially implantation bleeding?

Thanks so much, it could possibly be the dtd I didn’t think of that!

I did do a test when my period was late and it was bfn. It was a pretty normal period
for me. The spotting was strange because I think it was a week after I ovulated, going by my ovulation symptoms a week before. So I was confused if it could be implantation bleeding a week later, when I was spotting

If you think it could be implantation spotting, I would keep track of everything so that if you do need to talk to your GP or anyone about things you have it all handy to mention, if you think you ovulated earlier this cycle, how many DPO do you think you could be?

Thank you that’s a good idea. If I ovulated I think I’d be anything around 5-9 dpo now (going by the ovulation symptoms I had) and the spotting stopped yesterday.

Could you request your progesterone levels to be checked with your GP? That could help with confirmation of ovulation and then you might be able to get more of a rough idea on it all
Fingers crossed it was implantation for you✨

I’ll defo try and get an appointment for that, it would ease my mind a little.
Thanks so much! And thanks for your help,
