You don’t realise when you’re on the pill do you, everyone goes on about being on contraception because there’s such a high percentage of falling pregnant and then it’s like, you come off of it and nothing!
I have a 9 year old to a previous partner and then sadly me and my current partner had two early losses between 5-6 weeks in 2023 and then in 2024 had another loss between 7-8 weeks, we had the pregnancy tested in the labs and came back with Triploid syndrome, which was just super bad luck. We were referred to my NHS recurrent miscarriage fertility clinic, had all the tests done, pretty much everything is fine, besides having sticky blood condition, so now I take baby aspirin from 3DPO and would continue it until birth if I fell pregnant, once I get a positive, I have to have blood thinning injections and progesterone also.
My thyroid antibodies were really high so was being monitored with my TSH levels, they were fine in March, then I noticed a change in my cycle from June this year and was having no signs of ovulation, turns out my thyroid went under active and it was messing up my cycle and ovulation, was put on 25mcg levothyroxine, my levels got better in November but then bad again in December so now my medication has been upped to 50mcg, but this month all my ovulation signs and symptoms came back and I actually ovulated this cycle, so the medication must be doing something haha.
I’m waiting on a letter to come through about an appointment to have a hycosy done and my fertility consultant did offer medication to help me ovulate if my body isn’t ovulating, but we’re going to give it a couple more cycles until we possibly decide to do that since I have ovulated this cycle, it might just be that my thyroid levels need to be stable, my consultant wants my levels to be under 2 mu/L while I’m TTC or while pregnant, feels like the longest journey ever haha
