TWW over Christmas🎄✨

Hi! Is anyone else currently in or going into their TWW?
I’m on cycle 7 of TTC, CD 15 and 2DPO.
hopefully this TWW flies by with the business of Christmas😅

Hey hey. Yea! Currently 4dpo I think so AF is dye between Christmas and new year. 🙄

cobalt123 · 19/12/2025 16:53

I’ll maybe be 10dpo on Christmas Day which just feels like the worst timing in terms of uncertainty. Although if it isn’t going to work this month maybe it will be nicer to still be living in hope on Xmas day 😂

Haha yeah! I was in two minds with this months cycle, my period is due 31st December, so I’m like, it’s either going to be a great start to the new year or a sad one🤣 I’ve currently came down with some sort of cold or flu also so I’m annoyed with that!
Have you been trying for long?

OP posts:
cobalt123 · 20/12/2025 08:56

This is my 3rd cycle. Actually this has just made me realise I’ve been thinking this was my 4th cycle. Obviously it feels longer than it is 😂. So not been trying for a long time in the scheme of things. Are you going to wait until NYE to test or a bit earlier?

cobalt123 · 20/12/2025 08:57

I’m quite glad it’s over the holidays in one sense as I find it hard to focus on work with the TWW going on. It’s so distracting!

I know what you mean about not being able to focus, maybe over the holidays will feel more relaxing haha
I’m not sure what to do when it comes to testing, I have one child already who is 9, with him I don’t think I tested until my period was almost a week late! But then over the past couple of years I have had 3 miscarriages and think I tested a day before my period was due with them. I just get so nervous to test early because I hate seeing a negative, I feel like it makes my mood go down instantly and I rule it out straight away even though it would be too early to even detect a positive🤣 so I think I will hold off until NYE, unless I have any strong indicators that I think I am pregnant, I may cave and test earlier haha. When are you thinking of testing?

Hey OP seems like we’re twinning a lot! I’m also on cycle 7 and my AF will be due on New Year’s Eve if I don’t catch this cycle.

Thomsonetthompson · 20/12/2025 10:10

Me! I always test 12dpo and that's Christmas Day. I think it's good because if it's negative then I'll immediately launch into presents and be distracted. My ovulation peak was so so low this month though (0.4 was the highest it got when it's normally 2.4) but I used a new brand of test so hoping I did ovulate and do still have a chance of a Christmas Day positive!

Hopefully Christmas luck for us all

have you done anything different this cycle compared to your other ones?

Oooo exciting! I hope you get a BFP on Christmas🤞🏼
I’m the worst at tracking my ovulation! I do everything right and the amount of times I’ve missed my peak is ridiculous! What tests do you use? I was using easy@home but no matter how early I started testing and how many times a day I tested my levels were just so low, I think the highest I ever got was last months cycle was 0.88 at the darkest and I still didn’t catch that cycle, I switched to the CB digital ones and finally got a peak this month on CD 12, my cycles have been a bit scatty recently because I’m currently in trial and error of my levothyroxine dose, they’ve just been upped, so I’m hoping that helps a bit. I feel a lot more hopeful this cycle than the previous ones though

Christmas baby dust to us all!✨

Thanks, good luck to you too. I’ve started a couple new things this cycle after I did a hormone test and it told me some things were low. Eating a lot more veg, trying to drink more water, changed up my supplements and I started running again. I’m also going to start taking progesterone in a few days too which I got prescribed. Basically a lot of changes this cycle but if I don’t catch I know it might take a bit more time for the changes to take effect anyway. How about you?

Sounds like a good refreshing mindset to be in!
Were you prescribed the progesterone from your GP or did you go private for it?
I’m under the care of my NHS fertility clinic because we have had 3 miscarriages between 2023-2024, then this year we just haven’t managed to fall pregnant at all, I’m on levothyroxine, aiming to get my levels to under 2 mu/L as they keep going up and down, so just the trial of getting my dose correct for it to stabilise. My fertility clinic done loads of tests last year and we found out I have sticky blood condition, so I’m starting baby aspirin today and will take it up until my next cycle unless I get a BFP, I will continue to take it, once I find out I am pregnant I will be on blood thinning injections also and they said they would give me progesterone once they had done an early scan at 6 weeks, I just wish I could have the progesterone sooner, because with two of my losses, I had low progesterone and they denied me it, I can’t help but wonder if they had of given me progesterone before 6 weeks, would things be different, but they still won’t give me it before 6 weeks, which is frustrating and makes me quite anxious. I’m trying to meditate to stay calm though, don’t want to raise prolactin haha.
I’m hoping this flu that I’ve suddenly got doesn’t interfere with anything also, how typical on a cycle I think is a good one, I get ill!🤦🏻‍♀️

Yep me! Currently 3DPO after doing ovulation induction with letrozole.

It’s going to be tough because I don’t really want to drink during this TWW, but I know it will look suspicious as I normally love a glass of fizz! X

Chocolatecustardcreamsrule · 20/12/2025 18:02

Hope you don’t mind me jumping on board! I’m 2 dpo today and my ovulation was really painful this time (I had a hycosy so it might have something to do with it). No idea if that’s good or bad. Hard not to overthink I’m trying to not test until NYE but that might be impossible.

@Janey3090 if you don’t mind me asking how are you finding letrozole? I’m going to be starting it on my next cycle. I’ve started taking myo inositol which I’m amazed at the affect it’s having in terms of better sleep and reduced anxiety- no idea if it’s helping my PCOS though!

Ah do you? Could you try and trick them by having a glass of Shloer instead? Hahha

Welcome!!😊 oh sorry to hear about the painful ovulation! The past 6 cycles prior to this one I wasn’t having any ovulation signs/symptoms which I normally get, so this month when I had the ovulation cramps I was like the Cheshire Cat🤣
I’m waiting on my fertility consultant to send me a letter with an appointment for a hycosy, what was it like? I’m scared haha, I get so nervous for things down there for some reason, I’ve have a lot of internal scans now over the years, but the first time I had one I was an anxious mess. Do they numb you? Is it painful during it or does the pain come later on due to feeling tender because of it?

I’m currently 3dpo I think! this is the first month I havnt really tracked properly because it’s been driving me mad every month. I’ve had two chemicals and big fat negatives since July. AF is due New Year’s Day! Wishing you all luck! 🤞🏽

Hello! Can I join? I’m around 5DPO (not tracking other than CM to try and keep the pressure off) and AF due on 29 Dec so I am trying very hard not to test before then. Now I’m off work for Christmas I seem to be in my head an awful lot about it all!

It’s so hard not to over think about it all isn’t it? Do you symptom spot?
I’m so annoyed because I have a cold and hope it doesn’t throw anything off!
I already feel like the days are going so slow, I thought the rush of Christmas would speed it up a little bit hahah.

I am trying very hard not to symptom spot @SunshineAndRainbow37 but I have very sore boobs today and it is not helping! I do this every month!

I already have a 4YO so this would be my second. Hence why I’m trying to be chilled about it as I keep telling myself that if it doesn’t happen, it’s still ok. I know I am very fortunate.

SunshineAndRainbow37 · 21/12/2025 12:00

Oh it’s the worst @SunshineAndRainbow37 I am constantly second guessing myself! Plus I have been on the pill for most of my adult life and it really makes me realise how ignorant I am about my own body and its natural functions.

This is officially cycle 5 actively TTC but we were NTNP for a few months before that. How about you? What’s your story?

It’s so weird isn’t it I never had any ovulation cramps until the last few years and now they are quite painful.

I worked myself into a right panic about the hycosy. They say to take painkillers beforehand and I took naproxen and cocodomol as I was really worried. I think the experience varies for each person, when they insert the catheter it stings a bit but nothing unmanageable, when they inserted the dye on my right side tube I didn’t even feel it. The left side was a bit sore, they say cramping but for me it was more pressure (like the pain you get with trapped wind) only for about 20 seconds and then it was done. I’d have it again no problem so try not to worry and it’s definitely worth it. It’s meant to increase chances for the next few cycles as it clears everything out (fingers crossed)

You don’t realise when you’re on the pill do you, everyone goes on about being on contraception because there’s such a high percentage of falling pregnant and then it’s like, you come off of it and nothing!

I have a 9 year old to a previous partner and then sadly me and my current partner had two early losses between 5-6 weeks in 2023 and then in 2024 had another loss between 7-8 weeks, we had the pregnancy tested in the labs and came back with Triploid syndrome, which was just super bad luck. We were referred to my NHS recurrent miscarriage fertility clinic, had all the tests done, pretty much everything is fine, besides having sticky blood condition, so now I take baby aspirin from 3DPO and would continue it until birth if I fell pregnant, once I get a positive, I have to have blood thinning injections and progesterone also.
My thyroid antibodies were really high so was being monitored with my TSH levels, they were fine in March, then I noticed a change in my cycle from June this year and was having no signs of ovulation, turns out my thyroid went under active and it was messing up my cycle and ovulation, was put on 25mcg levothyroxine, my levels got better in November but then bad again in December so now my medication has been upped to 50mcg, but this month all my ovulation signs and symptoms came back and I actually ovulated this cycle, so the medication must be doing something haha.
I’m waiting on a letter to come through about an appointment to have a hycosy done and my fertility consultant did offer medication to help me ovulate if my body isn’t ovulating, but we’re going to give it a couple more cycles until we possibly decide to do that since I have ovulated this cycle, it might just be that my thyroid levels need to be stable, my consultant wants my levels to be under 2 mu/L while I’m TTC or while pregnant, feels like the longest journey ever haha
