Faint positives at 16dpo - Help!

Today I’ve had 2 faint positive tests and I’m 15 or 16 days past ovulation. Am I going mad? Do these look positive to anybody else? Bear in mind the photos were taken within 1 minute of taking each test. I’ve been taking tests for 6 years and never had them look like this unless I’ve been pregnant- however I feel like I’m too many dpo for them to be this faint if I am in fact pregnant. Sadly I’ve had 4 miscarriages previously but also have one lovely little boy who is my everything. I just really want him to have a baby brother or sister! Thanks to anyone who comments.

Thank you so much for your comment! I just pray if I am that this baby sticks- I’m very worried how faint they are with me being 16 days past ovulation.

Many congratulations x

They look positive to me. ❤️ Are you sure on ovulation date? And is this the first positive you've gotten for this cycle? Most likely scenario is you ovulated late, and baby implanted late.

Lines should be a little darker in two days but if you're hesitant to get your hopes up a HCG blood draw might give reassurance too.

Thank you so much for commenting! I’m on letrozole and had a scan at the fertility clinic on 25th Nov, and they said it looked like I was going to ovulate within the next day or so. So it’s pretty accurate I think, which is making me so confused and worried at them being so faint. Hoping for a Christmas miracle!

Conception has a range of normal, and a whole host impacts colour of tests! How hydrated you are / what time of day you tested at / how quickly you took the photo after dipping. It's a good sign it showed up within a minute. ❤️

That’s a good point, I’ve taken these this afternoon, not with FMU, I’ll try that tomorrow! In the past I’ve taken a clear blue and have seen a faint line after about 30 mins or so (after obsessing over it!) so yes hopefully it’s a sign that this showed pretty instantly!

So no sign of AF?

No, not yet, but my cycles are super long so I wouldn’t expect it until well into next week. It always makes this wait more intense 😫

Here’s this morning, FMU. Still faint, but looking better. 🙂

Main thing is it gets darker. ❤️ I find the red strip tests better too, for the early testing.

AhBiscuits · 13/12/2025 15:31

It's looking good OP. Fingers crossed for you.

Renisenb · 13/12/2025 22:23

@StarshineCatthat left one looked pretty much exactly like mine did at 16dpo.

Oh how lovely, congratulations!! 🤗Yes it was a clear and simple one! I was worried it was a false positive at first as I went down a rabbit hole reading their Amazon reviews 😆 Really reassuring to hear that though, thank you so much for commenting. I’m going to do another in the morning. Eek!

Actually, I think we might be ok. I took this photo quite quickly after taking the test. About 10 mins later I lined the tests up and I can definatley see progression! Please keep everything crossed for me and thank you so much for everyone’s comments. You’ve all been so supportive, I really appreciate it. 🤗

Ahh that’s very reassuring! Thank you so much for sharing that. I might do another one in the morning and then try and start to relax. God knows how much I’ve spent on tests over the last few years 😂

Hi ladies, unfortunately I’ve woken up bleeding red blood- it’s come on really suddenly which has given me a shock- it all seemed to be going so well. With my other 4 miscarriages it started slowly with brown spotting pretty much from day 1, whereas this ones been fine so far which gave me a bit of false hope! Absolutely gutted. My last one was last Christmas aswell! Thanks again for all your support though ladies. You’re all lovely. X

Sending you so much love ❤️ I hope you are having support and also consider medical checks for recurrent miscarriage!xx

Renisenb · 20/12/2025 14:42

So sorry about this. How rubbish at Christmas.
as above do go to the GP for récurrent miscarriage xx

sprinklesofadvice · 20/12/2025 18:50

I'm so sorry to hear this. 💔

When I had a loss, my GP told me the silver lining was I could get pregnant. I thought it was a very odd comment, but it was something I thought of often when I started trying again. Very much hoping you get your rainbow baby too.
