Confused about ovulation and EWCM - HELP!!

Hi ladies,
I’m hoping to get some help and opinions.

My boyfriend and I are trying to conceive our first. He’s 41 and I’ve just turned 38. I have very regular cycles, usually between 23–26 days. I get what I believe is ovulation pain, and every month I have up to five days of EWCM.

What I’m struggling with is pinpointing the exact day I ovulate, and I’m worried we might be missing it.
If you look at the attached Flo App chart for November, it predicts my most likely ovulation day as the 10th (the dotted circle).

On that day I recorded what felt like ovulation pain and had EWCM. However, I continued to have EWCM for four more days (the grey dots). We only managed to BD twice (red hearts) since we were both ill. My period arrived today, so unfortunately we didn’t catch it this month.

I’m curious—when do you think I ovulated? Is it possible to ovulate and still have several days of EWCM afterward? Or does the last day of EWCM usually line up closer to ovulation?

Do you think the best strategy is to BD every day I see EWCM? It feels a bit intense, haha 🤣

Anyway, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m new to all of this, and we’re moving on to cycle 7 now

Hi there! Totally ignore what the app says they are based on average data which many people dont fall into.

If you don’t want to track ovulation through LH urine testing or body temperature a good rule is to start as soon as you see EWCM until it disappears. Lots of studies say every other day is enough if every day feels like too much ☺️

good luck! 🤍

Thanks for the reply! I’ve realized that with the Flow app, I tend to get EWCM well after the predicted dates. Testing and strips just aren’t for me, so I’m going to trust what my body naturally tells me instead. :)

Do you think I should be concerned about having a shorter luteal phase?

Anything less than 10 is classed as short so maybe count your last day of EWCM as ovulation day?

And reach out to your GP if anything less than that ☺️ x
